Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, that guy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, denis opal! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, William Gold and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! guy looks for a takedown but opal sprawls well. opal wants to clinch. The fight moves into the clinch position. opal ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. opal no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. guy will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. opal seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. opal can't keep his opponent in guard - guy advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. opal keeping hold of guy's head, controlling as best he can. guy throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. opal misses with some strikes from the bottom.
guy is trying to work for a kimura but opal is defending well.
guy has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. guy seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but opal does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. opal is controlling guy's trapped leg to prevent guy from advancing to side control. opal tries to kick guy off but guy keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. opal avoiding damage under a succession of punches from guy.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. opal with a poor takedown and guy counters with a nice double leg into side control. opal won't be happy with that. guy looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. opal manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. guy wants to control but opal is keeping him busy. guy really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. opal wants to control but guy is keeping busy.
guy wants to take a breather but opal is having none of it. guy is sneakily working for an arm triangle but opal sees it coming and defends easily. opal trying to control from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. opal wants to get back to full guard. guy throwing shots but opal is blocking nicely.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. opal closes the distance looking to clinch and guy counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. guy throwing shots but opal is blocking nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. opal manages to escape and get back to his feet! opal tries to clinch but guy moves away and guy counters with a takedown into side control. guy is trying to get an arm triangle but opal is defending well. opal is trying to improve his position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. guy in side control, throwing shots but opal defends. guy has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for opal! guy working away from the top, dropping strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. guy blocks opal's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. guy raining down shots from the mount! guy working away from the top, dropping strikes. guy looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
opal is trying desperately to improve position. guy is in the full mount, landing strikes. guy with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. guy pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. guy has control of opal's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and opal regains control of the situation pretty easily.

guy wants to pass the guard but opal is keeping the position. guy wants to stand but opal is controlling his posture from full guard. guy missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. opal looking for a sweep. Not yet opal, not yet.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. opal tries to clinch but guy is having none of it. guy shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than guy was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! guy jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but opal manages to avoid the submission attempt. opal gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. opal tries to get to full guard but guy has control of the leg. guy stops opal from getting back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round. guy with a couple of short strikes. guy lands with some strikes. guy working the ground and pound effectively.
opal is in a horrible position here. guy smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
opal tries to get back to half guard but can't. opal is bucking up trying to escape but guy cracks him with another couple of good strikes. opal tries to hold on but guy pushes him away. guy trying to control but he's not successful this time. guy fails to move to back control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. guy misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Nice work! guy looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! opal has picked guy up and slammed him! guy can't keep hold of the triangle and opal manages to pass to side control! opal decides to stand back up. guy gets caught flat footed, as opal shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. opal is breathing heavily. guy has his foot on opal's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. opal works his way back into a safe position though. This has been an exciting period of action! opal stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. guy swivels though and keeps the full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. guy throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. opal got a little sloppy there for a moment and guy has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, opal has managed to get both his arms back between guy's legs - danger averted. opal throws a big right hand that misses. opal pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. guy is keeping the position for now. Both fighters are breathing heavily. guy wants to sweep but no luck. guy is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. that guy overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. opal scores with a takedown into guy's guard. opal has gone for a leg lock! guy slips out almost immediately though and dives into opal's guard. opal keeping moving, preventing guy from controlling successfully. guy trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. opal working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from guy. guy showing good wrestling skills to control the position. opal trying to control the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. opal closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming guy to the mat! guy manages to get full guard. guy is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. guy looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. opal gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. opal doesn't succeed with the takedown and guy counters with a leg kick. opal throws a sloppy head kick and guy counters with a nice double leg into guard. opal is controlling guy's posture. guy looking to pass the guard. opal escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. guy gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. guy preventing the sweep.
That's four minutes gone in the round. opal can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as guy controls the pace. guy trying to control the position from guard on top but opal is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. guy forces his way into half guard. opal on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. guy is looking for a kimura here.
guy thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed opal's head.
And that's the end of the fight! denis opal comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think guy has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
