Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Twisted Fister!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Marsellus Wallace!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Arvi Lind and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Fister.
Fister wants to control but Wallace is keeping him busy.
Wallace is looking for a sweep.

Fister wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Wallace, who protects the arm well.
Wallace tries to buck Fister off but Fister is having none of it.

Fister thows a huge punch but Wallace dodges it nicely.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Fister shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Wallace's guard.

Wallace wants to improve his position but Fister is controlling well.
Fister is tying to control. Wallace wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Fister tries to pass the half guard into mount. Wallace knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Wallace with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Fister to score with a decent uppercut.

Wallace gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Wallace looking to hit a scissor sweep but Fister is one step ahead there.
Fister is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Wallace had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Fister is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Wallace Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Fister's back instead.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fister is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Wallace gets his way!

Marsellus Wallace dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Wallace is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Wallace is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Fister dives into side control.

Fister stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wallace swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Fister has his foot on Wallace's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wallace works his way back into a safe position though.
Wallace stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fister swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Wallace thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Twisted Fister has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marsellus Wallace.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Wallace's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
