Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Charles Bronson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Holmes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, John Holmes! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Andrew Berry and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Holmes displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Bronson throws out the jab. The fight stays on the outside here - Holmes looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Holmes looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Holmes shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bronson but Bronson pushes him off and we're back to square one. Holmes tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Holmes checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Bronson throws out a leg kick but Holmes moves out of range and Bronson only half commits. Holmes throws a head kick that misses. Holmes blocks a jab. Holmes shoots in and drives through. Bronson sprawls well. Holmes shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bronson as he jumps to the side. Charles Bronson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Holmes. Bronson throws out a loose jab but Holmes uses good head movement to avoid it. Holmes fails in his attempt to clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Holmes shoots in for a takedown but Bronson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Bronson avoids the head kick by Holmes.
Holmes looks gassed! Holmes has a takedown stuffed. Holmes staying out of range there. The fight stays on the outside here - Holmes looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Charles Bronson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Holmes checks a leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Holmes uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Bronson. Bronson throws a leg kick but Holmes sees it coming and checks it nicely. Bronson throws a lazy right hand but Holmes sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. A punch combination from Bronson misses. Holmes leaves Bronson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Holmes tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Bronson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Holmes manages to avoid it. Holmes scores with a nice head shot. Bronson shoots in looking for a takedown. Holmes tries to sprawl out of it but Bronson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Holmes manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Bronson doesn't succeed with the takedown and Holmes counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Holmes throws a nice looking combination but Bronson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Bronson closes the distance and clinches. Holmes goes for a takedown attempt but Bronson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Holmes fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Bronson looks to score with a jab to the body but Holmes is just out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bronson misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Holmes.
Holmes gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Bronson. Bronson clinches up with Holmes and pushes him back against the cage. Holmes can't break the clinch.

Bronson takes the fight into the clinch. Bronson lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Holmes tries to pull guard but Bronson holds him up against the cage and eventually Holmes drops back down to his feet.
Bronson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Holmes looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Bronson throws a big shot that misses. Bronson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Holmes pinned against the cage. Holmes gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Holmes looks to land a combination. Bronson sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Holmes scores with a nice strike. Holmes moves out of range as Bronson strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Holmes tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bronson swivels and escapes. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Holmes. Bronson loads up on a big right hand but Holmes slips the punch. Holmes will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Holmes is looking to clinch but Bronson is avoiding it.
Bronson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Holmes, pushing him back against the cage. Bronson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Bronson wants to clinch. Holmes tries to close the distance and clinch but Bronson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Bronson keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Holmes shoots for a takedown but Bronson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Bronson fails with a takedown attempt. Bronson attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Holmes jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Holmes throws a head kick that misses. Holmes shoots in looking for a takedown. Bronson tries to sprawl out of it but Holmes keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bronson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Holmes crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Bronson - the referee stops the clock and Holmes gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Bronson. Holmes manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Holmes misses with a wild combination.

and Holmes counters with a three punch combo that has Bronson backing up. Bronson nods at Holmes to acknowledge the strikes. Bronson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Bronson trying to control the position from guard on top but Holmes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bronson controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Bronson with a flurry of punches that miss. Holmes looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bronson is one step ahead there. Bronson works over Holmes with some ground and pound from guard. Bronson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Bronson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Holmes's guard. Bronson landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Bronson drops an elbow to the side of Holmes's head.
That's six minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Bronson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Holmes does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Holmes is trying to get back to full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bronson wants to take a breather but Holmes is having none of it. Holmes tries to roll over but Bronson keeps him under control. Bronson slips a nice elbow through Holmes's hands, connecting with Holmes's forehead. Bronson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's seven minutes gone in the round. Bronson scoring with strikes to the body and head. Holmes has hold of Bronson's hands but Bronson slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Holmes is trying to get back to full guard. Bronson trying to control from Holmes's half guard. Holmes has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Bronson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Holmes looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bronson passes Holmes's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Holmes wants to improve his position but Bronson is controlling well.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Holmes regains full guard. Nicely done. Bronson postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Holmes wants to sweep here but Bronson controlling him for the moment. Holmes throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

Holmes really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bronson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Bronson landing some decent shots from guard. Bronson postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Holmes looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Bronson puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Holmes wants to get back to full guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Holmes can do anything to dispel that myth. Bronson is working for a submission of some sort.
Holmes tries to get to full guard but Bronson has control of the leg. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Bronson lands a nice short elbow.
And that's the end of the fight! Charles Bronson showed his dominance in that final round. Well Bronson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
