PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Julius Prime (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oleg Osbourne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Osbourne has chosen Dropkick Murphys - Warriors Code as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Julius Prime!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Oleg Osbourne!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Osbourne misses the jab.
Prime keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Osbourne misses with a body shot.
Prime swinging wildly here.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Osbourne's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Prime swings away with a body shot that misses
and Osbourne makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Osbourne wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Osbourne ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Prime takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Osbourne forces Prime back against the cage and clinches.
Osbourne scores with a hook to the body.
Osbourne has Prime pressed against the cage, preventing Prime from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Osbourne breaks from the clinch.
Prime gets cracked there but stands up to it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Osbourne closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Osbourne lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
A right handed body shot lands from Osbourne.
Prime is breathing heavily.

Osbourne pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
A decent looking cross lands there for Osbourne.
A bone on bone clash there as Prime blocks the leg kick.
Osbourne dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Prime. That did some damage!

Osbourne fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Prime looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Prime on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Osbourne lands a jab to the head.


Prime is rocked!
Prime takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Osbourne throws a nice outside leg kick.
Osbourne cracks a nice hook into Prime's ribs.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Prime crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Osbourne - the referee stops the clock and Prime gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Osbourne. Prime manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Osbourne feints and as Prime raises his hands in defense, Osbourne changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Prime keeping moving, preventing Osbourne from controlling successfully.
Osbourne stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Prime swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Osbourne advances to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Prime wants to control but Osbourne is keeping busy.
Osbourne missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Osbourne is trying to work for a kimura but Prime is defending well.
Osbourne passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Prime!

Osbourne goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Prime is on top in guard.

Osbourne has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Prime can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Prime is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Osbourne is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Prime knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Osbourne on the ground.

Prime wants to control from the top but Osbourne keeps moving.

Prime drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Prime jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Prime is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Osbourne is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Osbourne working for a triangle but Prime defends it easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Prime sitting in guard here, content to control.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Osbourne misses with a wild body shot.
Prime fails with the takedown
and Osbourne counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Osbourne has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Osbourne feints and then cracks Prime's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Prime down.
Osbourne pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Osbourne throws a combination that misses
and Prime counters with a stiff right hand.
Prime tries to clinch up.
Osbourne steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Prime.
Osbourne cracks Prime with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Osbourne cracks Prime with a good jab.
A big left from Osbourne misses.
Osbourne throws a body punch but Prime moves out of range.
Osbourne thuds his right hand into Prime's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Oleg Osbourne seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Osbourne ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Prime ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Prime walks into a stiff left hand from Osbourne.
Prime moves away from the strike by Osbourne.
Julius Prime is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Osbourne tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Prime is able to avoid easily.

Prime takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Good leg kick by Prime there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Prime uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Osbourne.

Osbourne is pushing down on Prime's leg trying to pass to half guard. Prime is fighting to maintain full guard but Osbourne has managed to sneak the leg through.

Osbourne misses with a head shot. Prime uses the momentum to regain guard.

Osbourne has gone for a leg lock! Prime slips out almost immediately though and dives into Osbourne's guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Prime drops back looking for a leg! Osbourne is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Osbourne manages to kick Prime off! Prime jumps back into Osbourne's guard.

Oleg Osbourne showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Prime loads up on a big right hand but Osbourne slips the punch.
Prime shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

Osbourne jumps guard but Prime stands there with Osbourne around his waist. Osbourne gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

and Osbourne counters with a right hand to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Osbourne. Prime does a little dance to reset his feet.
Osbourne scores with a jab.
Prime has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Osbourne finds it's way round the side to connect with Prime's head.

Osbourne gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Prime to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Osbourne is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Osbourne seems to be working for a kimura but Prime defends the submission attempt.
Prime keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Osbourne is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Prime reverses the position - he's now on top in Osbourne's guard.
Oleg Osbourne is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Prime gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Osbourne counters with a nice low kick that buckles Prime's knee momentarily.

Prime changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Osbourne looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Prime is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Osbourne is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Prime wants to control but Osbourne is keeping him busy.

Osbourne manages to work his way to half guard, despite Prime's best efforts.
Prime is trying to control the action in half guard but Osbourne is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Osbourne is defending against the submission attempts here by Prime.

Prime is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Osbourne is just riding it out for now. Prime eventually gives up the hold.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Osbourne shoots in and bounces Prime off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Prime trying to keep a closed guard but Osbourne is proving a slippery customer.

Well Osbourne has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
