Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Wand Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, James Jones!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shigeki Fujiwara and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Jones. Jones obviously looking to wear him down.
Silva misses with a takedown attempt - Jones sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Jones defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Silva.
Silva shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jones but Jones pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wand Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jones scores with a head kick.
It looks like Wand Silva has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Silva sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Jones stuffs the takedown attempt from Silva. Silva gets slowly back to his feet.
Silva is breathing heavily.
Good leg kick by Jones there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Jones connects with a solid leg kick.
A thudding body kick lands there by Jones!
Jones throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Silva closes the distance and clinches up with Jones, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes Jones against the cage but Jones circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Jones lands a front kick.
Jones lands a monster head kick that reverborates around the arena! The crowd goes wild as Silva crumples to the floor! Jones milks the crowd's applause and if that isn't knockout of the night, I will be very surprised!
