Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rex Carver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mad Hatter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mad Hatter has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rex Carver!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mad Hatter!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Hugh Johnson and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carver throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Carver thuds his right hand into Hatter's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Hatter scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.


It looks like Rex Carver has been cut.
Hatter ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Hatter blocks a jab.
Carver throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Carver lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hatter circles away quickly and effectively.
Carver throws a hook to the side of Hatter's head but Hatter sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
The fighters circling - Carver throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Hatter misses with an uppercut.
Carver will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Carver shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hatter is trying to defend but Carver finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Carver passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Hatter!

Hatter really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carver. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hatter can do anything to dispel that myth.

Hatter is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Carver looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hatter is fending him off so far but Carver persists. Nope, Hatter circles away and we're back to standing.
Rex Carver seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Carver changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hatter looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Carver looks up at the clock and then as Hatter takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Carver smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Carver has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Carver tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hatter sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Carver somewhat.

Mad Hatter is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Rex Carver.
I think Carver has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
