Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mauri Perusjatka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mauri Perusjatka!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Johanna Lukiainen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Perusjatka is fending him off so far but Jackson persists. Nope, Perusjatka circles away and we're back to standing.

Perusjatka shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jackson's guard.

Perusjatka really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jackson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Jackson is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Perusjatka still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Perusjatka has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Perusjatka in particular looking to stall.
Perusjatka is just content to waste time from the top position. Jackson takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Jackson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Perusjatka throws a strike but Jackson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Jackson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Perusjatka swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well Perusjatka has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
