PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Grounden Pound (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Torvi Sorsa Kurasuoli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pound misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Kurasuoli tries to close the distance and clinch but Pound swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Kurasuoli throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Pound's head.
Pound throws a leg kick but Kurasuoli moved away.
Pound misses with a two punch combination.
Pound takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Kurasuoli swats away the attempt to clinch by Pound.

Pound shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kurasuoli napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Pound has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Kurasuoli has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Kurasuoli rolls, trying to escape but Pound keeps control of the position.
What can Kurasuoli do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Pound will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Pound feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Pound lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Pound seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kurasuoli does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Horrible takedown by Pound or perhaps it was just good defense by Kurasuoli which made him look bad.

A head kick from Kurasuoli lands but Pound takes it in his stride.

Pound is taking a breather. Kurasuoli says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Pound seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Kurasuoli for as long as he can get away with.

Grounden Pound overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
