Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Math R (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Math R enters the ring!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, James Carter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Math R!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Radbod Blank and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter dodges the punch combination from R.
A looping hook to the body misses from R. Carter does a little dance to reset his feet.
R fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Math R seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Carter moves into the clinch.

Carter manages to pull guard.
R wanted to stand there but Carter had control of the position.
R must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Carter is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
R has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Carter is proving hard to escape from.

R wants to stand and escape but instead Carter has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
R wants to stand but Carter is controlling the position.

Carter drops back, looking for a kneebar! R looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. R looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from R!
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Carter is trying to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
R tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

R decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Carter could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Carter takes a body punch but keeps moving.
R fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
R throws a nice looking combination but Carter bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
R leaves Carter with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
No joy there for R, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
R defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Carter.
A lazy left from R finds it's target.
Carter shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says R as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Carter. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Carter moves out of range as R throws a body kick.

Oooh a lovely combination from R sends Carter down but not out. R dives into side control looking to finish.


It looks like James Carter has been cut.
Carter is breathing heavily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

R stands up.
R throws a right and a left that Carter avoids nicely.
Carter staying out of range there.
R misses with a two punch combination.
Math R is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Carter drives through and clinches with R against the ropes.
R wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Carter has him pressed against the ropes.
Carter tries to circle away but R has him pinned against the ropes.
R is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes.
Carter tries to pull guard but R won't allow it.
Carter has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. R is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Carter keeps the fight in the clinch, despite R's efforts to push away.
Carter drops down looking for an ankle pick but R pulls his leg out and moves away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Math R dominated that round.
The cut man is working on James Carter's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


R moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
R throws a shot from downtown. Carter moves away and avoids it.
R misses with a body shot.
R throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
R throws a hook but Carter blocks it.
R misses with a few strikes there.
Some wild striking there from R.
R wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Carter avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
R ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
R looks to score with a jab to the body but Carter is just out of range.
R throws a leg kick but Carter moved away.

R misses with the combination.
R scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Good exchange - R coming out on top.
R is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Carter rather than just go for the knockout.
R stuns Carter with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
R throws a sloppy head kick and Carter moves out of range easily.
Carter dodges the punch combination from R.
R misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Carter misses with a combination
and R counters with a stiff right hand.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
R throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Carter stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
R throws a right hand that Carter ducks under and follows up with a left that Carter also avoids with ease.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A combination from R does no damage.
Some wild striking there from R.
R throws a series of punches but Carter moves out of range.
R throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Carter.
Carter wants to control but R is keeping him busy.
R is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Carter asserts his dominance and retains side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Carter thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Carter is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but R is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Carter fails to land a wild elbow strike.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
R is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Carter working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Carter checks a leg kick.
R fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Math R seems to be getting the better of the standup.
R throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Carter shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts R as he jumps to the side.
Carter uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by R.
R lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Math R showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on James Carter's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


R throws a series of punches but Carter avoids them all with ease.
R misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Carter.
R lands a jab to the head.
R just misses with a punch to the body.
R throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Carter sees it coming and avoids it easily.
R misses with a double jab

so Carter counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Carter trying to control but R is working from the bottom.
Carter throws a big right hand that misses.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Carter wants to control from the top but R keeps moving.
R is wriggling around but Carter manages to pass to half guard.
Carter stops R from getting back to his feet.
R really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carter. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Carter is sneakily working for an arm triangle but R sees it coming and defends easily.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Carter looks for a takedown but R sprawls well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Carter tries to move into range but R moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
R misses with a series of wild punches.
R misses with a jab, cross combination.
R misses with a combination

and Carter counters with a shoot takedown. R fights it but they end up in guard.
R wants to get back to his feet but Carter is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Carter has gone for a leg lock! R slips out almost immediately though and dives into Carter's guard.
R wants to stand and escape but instead Carter has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Carter prevents R from getting back to his feet.
Carter is looking to advance position but R has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
R is looking to stand but R has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.
Carter slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Carter manages to get to full guard.
R trying to stand up but can't free himself from Carter's guard.
Math R is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Carter is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. R is aware though and is defending well.
James Carter has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
R wants to stand but Carter is controlling his posture from full guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
James Carter showed his dominance in that final round.
I think R has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
