Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dave Dahlquist!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Max Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Albert Achterberg and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie throws a leg kick but Dahlquist sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Gracie missing with a left hand there. Dahlquist was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Gracie pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Gracie misses with a head kick.
Gracie jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Dahlquist keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Gracie throws a looping overhand right but Dahlquist ducks down to avoid it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Gracie looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Dahlquist tries to clinch but Gracie is having none of it.
Dahlquist moves in looking to clinch but Gracie pushes him off.
Dahlquist uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gracie.
Gracie throws a big shot that misses.
Gracie avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Gracie looks to score with a jab to the body but Dahlquist is just out of range.
Dahlquist tries to close the distance and clinch but Gracie swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Max Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gracie takes a swing at Dahlquist's ribcage but misses.
Gracie misses the shot to the body.
Dahlquist tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gracie swats him away and circles back towards the center.
The fight stays on the outside here - Dahlquist looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Gracie throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Gracie throws a series of punches but Dahlquist avoids them all with ease.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Gracie keeps the fight on the outside.
Gracie throws a head kick but Dahlquist moves out of range.
Dahlquist uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gracie.
Gracie throws a right hand that Dahlquist ducks under and follows up with a left that Dahlquist also avoids with ease.
Gracie looks to score with a jab to the body but Dahlquist is just out of range.

Dahlquist tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gracie swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Dahlquist forces Gracie back against the ropes and clinches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Gracie lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Gracie.
Dahlquist tries to clinch up.
Gracie looks to score with a jab to the body but Dahlquist is just out of range.

Dahlquist using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Gracie has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Dahlquist takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Gracie loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but Dahlquist is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Dahlquist will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Dahlquist is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Gracie is aware though and is defending well.

Dahlquist working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gracie doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gracie manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Dahlquist has his foot on Gracie's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gracie works his way back into a safe position though.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Gracie got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dahlquist has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gracie has managed to get both his arms back between Dahlquist's legs - danger averted.

Gracie seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Dahlquist is refusing to be controlled, as Gracie sits in half guard.
Gracie frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The referee warns Dahlquist that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
