Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kitsuomi Nanaka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yu Kanta!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Hirohito Nitta and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kanta gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Nanaka to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nanaka's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Kanta not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Nanaka stays in close to Kanta's body and controls the position.
Kanta really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nanaka. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Nanaka drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Nanaka jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Nanaka drops back looking for a leg! Kanta is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kanta manages to kick Nanaka off! Nanaka jumps back into Kanta's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nanaka is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Nanaka postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Nanaka thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Nanaka throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kanta was covering up waiting for the punch and Nanaka finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Kanta wants to stand up but Nanaka is controlling him.

Nanaka keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Kanta's head.
Nanaka is looking to work some ground and pound but Kanta has wrist control.
Nanaka won't allow Kanta to sweep him here.

Nanaka thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
A head kick misses from Kanta.
Kanta is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

and Nanaka counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Nanaka wants to control from the top but Kanta keeps moving.
Kanta can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Nanaka controls the pace.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Nanaka is trying for a kimura here. Kanta looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Nanaka wins by kimura!
