Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kevin Postma!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Brandon Ashby!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Sosuke Kotani and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ashby shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Postma manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Postma looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ashby is one step ahead there.
Ashby looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Postma looking to control but Ashby passes into half guard.
Ashby frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Postma can't escape the position.

Postma tries to control the position but Ashby now has his back.
Postma is trying to get back to his feet but Ashby has full control of the position and if anything, Postma has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Ashby controls the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ashby controlling well, preventing Postma from escaping the position.
Ashby lands a shot to the body.
Ashby is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Ashby controlling the position well here. Postma rolled but Ashby kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Postma drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ashby manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Postma has Ashby in his guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Postma working a defensive guard but Ashby manages to pass into side control anyway.

Postma is not content to let Ashby control the position.

Postma tries to bum rush Ashby with a series of wild strikes but Ashby uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Ashby moves into the clinch.
Postma changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Ashby fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Postma tries to clinch up but Ashby circles away and keeps his distance.

Ashby bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Postma is looking to reverse the position.
Postma is trying to escape the position but Ashby is controlling the position.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Ashby wants to control the pace but Postma is squirming around nicely.

Postma is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ashby cracks Postma with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Postma from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Postma tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Postma wants to hold on but Ashby pushes him away.

Ashby goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Postma is on top in guard.

Postma avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Ashby is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Postma postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Postma trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ashby is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Postma defends well.
Ashby not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Postma slips nicely into half guard.
Postma is thwarting Ashby's attempts to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brandon Ashby showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Ashby moves in looking to clinch but Postma pushes him off.
Postma misses with a takedown attempt

and Ashby counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Postma!

Ashby can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Postma is looking to escape.

Ashby jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Postma is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Postma and Ashby has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Ashby takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Postma tries to improve position but can't.
Postma is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Ashby's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Postma is looking to control Ashby's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Postma avoid being mounted?
Postma tries to roll over but Ashby keeps him under control.

Postma pushes Ashby off looking to stand but Ashby dives back in and keeps control.

Ashby decides to stand back up. Ashby steps back and let's Postma get back to his feet.
Postma moves in looking to clinch but Ashby pushes him off.
Ashby throws a front kick that sends Postma stumbling back into the cage.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Ashby unloads a knee to the mid-section. Postma lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Postma lands an uppercut.

Ashby pulls guard.

Postma has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Ashby is proving hard to escape from.
Ashby is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Postma pushes down on Ashby's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Ashby slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Ashby not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Well Ashby has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
