Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kris Coleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Coleman is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Kris Coleman has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kris Coleman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Andrew Martin! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Ian Loll and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Coleman shoots for a takedown but Martin saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Coleman is breathing heavily. Martin drives through with a takedown into guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Martin showing good wrestling skills to control the position. I looks like Martin might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Martin advances position into side control! Martin is working Coleman over with some ground and pound from side control. Martin decides to stand up, so the ref orders Coleman to his feet. Coleman circles away from the clinch attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Martin rushes Coleman and presses him up against the cage. A bit of stalling here from Martin.
Martin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Martin scores a takedown into full mount! Martin controlling the position easily from mount. Martin lands a heavy elbow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Martin pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. The referee warns Coleman that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Martin landing strikes from the mount and Coleman is in trouble! Martin is working for a guillotine from mount but Coleman frees his head quite easily.
Martin raining down shots from the mount! Martin has control of Coleman's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Coleman regains control of the situation pretty easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Martin controlling the position easily from mount. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Coleman tries to lock up and control but Martin gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Martin takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Martin is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Martin scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Martin works his way into side control. Coleman wants to control but Martin postures up. Martin trying to control the position but Coleman is working away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Coleman can't do much from the bottom here. Coleman prevents Martin from improving position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Andrew Martin dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Martin shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Coleman but Coleman pushes him off and we're back to square one. Martin feints and as Coleman raises his hands in defense, Martin changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Martin trying to control but Coleman is working from the bottom. Martin working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Coleman's head. Martin trying to control the position from guard on top but Coleman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Andrew Martin has got the better of the ground game so far. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Martin stays in close to Coleman's body and controls the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Martin works a leg free and moves into half guard. Martin working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Martin trying to control from half guard but Coleman is working away. Martin decides to return to a standing position. Martin moves into range and clinches up with Coleman. Martin breaks the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Martin tries to pass to full mount but Coleman defends it. Martin is keen to just control but Coleman is a slippery customer. Coleman is positioning himself well to prevent Martin advancing to mount. Martin content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Martin is looking to stall here but Coleman recovers full guard. Coleman wants to sweep here but Martin controlling him for the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Martin not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Martin wants to control from the top but Coleman keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Despite being in the dominant position, Andrew Martin just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Martin misses with a takedown and Coleman counters with a shoot takedown. Martin fights it but they end up in guard. Coleman wants to control from the top but Martin keeps moving. Martin utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Coleman trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Coleman is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Martin has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Andrew Martin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Martin looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Martin wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Martin fails with a takedown attempt. Coleman keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Kris Coleman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrew Martin. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Martin closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Coleman to the mat! Coleman manages to get full guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Coleman pushes Martin off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Martin shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Coleman wants to get back to his feet.
Coleman has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Martin is working away from the top position though. Martin controlling the action here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Coleman tries to roll over but Martin keeps him under control. Martin moves into full mount! Coleman won't be happy about that! Martin sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Coleman wants to hold on but Martin pushes him away. Coleman tries to get back to half guard but can't. Coleman is squirming around, avoiding Martin's attempts to control the action. Coleman really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Martin cracks Coleman with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Martin controlling the pace for now. Martin looking to control but Coleman is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Martin controlling the position easily from mount. Kris Coleman has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Andrew Martin is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Martin looking to finish Coleman with some ground and pound. This is bad for Coleman!
And that's the end of the fight! Andrew Martin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Martin has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
