Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Winston Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Evangelos Terrofinos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Winston Steel!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Evangelos Terrofinos!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Gregory Folan and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice combination there by Terrofinos.


It looks like Winston Steel has been cut.
Steel lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Terrofinos circles away quickly and effectively.
Terrofinos throws a nice inside leg kick.
Terrofinos tries to close the distance and clinch but Steel swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Terrofinos misses with an attempted mid kick.
Steel throws a push kick but Terrofinos slaps the foot to one side.
Terrofinos connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Terrofinos moves into range and clinches up with Steel.
Steel has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Terrofinos avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Steel wants the takedown. Terrofinos is fighting it off but Steel persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Terrofinos's guard against the cage.

Steel doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Steel changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Terrofinos looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Steel goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Terrofinos has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Steel but great work by Terrofinos.
Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Steel, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
