Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Norman Ewert! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aaron Gracie! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ewert looks to throw the jab but Gracie is out of range. Ewert misses with a straight left. Gracie swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Ewert lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gracie circles away quickly and effectively. Ewert throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Gracie sees it coming and avoids it easily. A big right from Ewert misses. Ewert swinging wildly here.
Gracie takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Ewert swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Gracie. Ewert misses with a hook. Gracie doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Ewert misses with a jab, cross combination.
Gracie slips a jab from Ewert. Norman Ewert seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The fighters circling - Gracie throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Good exchange - Gracie coming out on top. Ewert throws out a loose jab but Gracie uses good head movement to avoid it. Ewert slips a jab from Gracie. Gracie misses with a wild body shot. Ewert throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Gracie connects with a right hand. Ewert shakes it off. Ewert scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ewert fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Gracie on the side of the head. Ewert looks to throw the jab but Gracie is out of range. Ewert misses with a wild body shot. Gracie displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ewert throws out the jab. Gracie throws out a loose jab but Ewert uses good head movement to avoid it. Ewert lands a jab-cross combination. Gracie tries to clinch there but Ewert circles away.
Ewert misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Ewert lands with a right hand. Ewert misses the shot to the body. Gracie connects with a crisp jab. Ewert is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Gracie uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Ewert. Excellent takedown into side control there by Gracie. Gracie in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Ewert is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
