Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimmy Conway! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Adam Monroe! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Franklyn Lucas and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Monroe looks for a takedown but Conway sprawls well. Monroe gets the takedown into side control. Monroe decides to stand up, so the ref orders Conway to his feet. Monroe scores with a takedown into Conway's guard. Conway trying to control the position.
Monroe working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Monroe connects with a couple of short punches. Monroe lands a couple of decent looking shots. Conway keeping moving, preventing Monroe from controlling successfully. Monroe is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
That's one minute gone in the round. Monroe has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Conway to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Monroe is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Conway pulls down on the head and he's put Monroe to sleep! This one is all over!
