Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Scott Damoza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mojo Joe Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mojo Joe Joe has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Scott Damoza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Mojo Joe Joe!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Chris Edwards and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Joe Joe drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Damoza is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Joe Joe is controlling him.
Joe Joe wants to pass the guard but Damoza is keeping the position.
Damoza wants to get back to his feet but Joe Joe is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Joe Joe won't allow Damoza to sweep him here.
Damoza working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Joe Joe.
Damoza avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Damoza keeping moving, preventing Joe Joe from controlling successfully.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Damoza fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Joe Joe fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Joe Joe tries to score a power double leg takedown but Damoza sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Joe Joe somewhat.

Damoza has closed the distance and engaged Joe Joe in a clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Damoza fails to land.
Damoza really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Damoza tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Damoza lands with a right to the head.
Damoza has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Joe Joe is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Joe Joe tries to pull guard but Damoza holds him up against the cage and eventually Joe Joe drops back down to his feet.
Scott Damoza has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mojo Joe Joe.

Joe Joe breaks from the clinch.
Damoza thows a body shot but no joy.

Good exchange - Damoza coming out on top.

Damoza drives through and clinches with Joe Joe against the cage.
Joe Joe goes for a takedown attempt but Damoza pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Damoza shoots in but Joe Joe avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Damoza punishes Joe Joe's body with a nice straight punch.
Joe Joe looks gassed!
Joe Joe keeps the fight on the outside.

Damoza changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Joe Joe looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Damoza cracks Joe Joe with a big elbow.

Damoza goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Joe Joe has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Damoza but great work by Joe Joe.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Joe Joe lands an elbow.
Damoza is looking to regain half guard here but Joe Joe keeps moving and retains side control.

Damoza takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Damoza knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Joe Joe on the ground.
Damoza pushes Joe Joe away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Joe Joe gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Joe Joe wants to lay and pray for a moment but Damoza keeps working.
Damoza tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Damoza trying to control the action but Joe Joe just sinks the hooks in.

Damoza prevents Joe Joe from getting a body triangle.
Joe Joe is landing with strikes from the back.
Damoza manages to reverse the position and now he's in Joe Joe's guard. Nice work there by Damoza.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Scott Damoza dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Joe Joe fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Joe Joe slips under a jab.
Damoza misses with a wild body shot.
Damoza moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Joe Joe ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Joe Joe tries for a takedown but Damoza sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Damoza leaves Joe Joe with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Scott Damoza has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mojo Joe Joe.
Damoza looks for a takedown but Joe Joe sprawls well.

Joe Joe looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Damoza pushes Joe Joe off looking to stand but Joe Joe dives back in and keeps control.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Damoza is looking to control Joe Joe's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Damoza avoid being mounted?
Joe Joe working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Damoza is holding on to half guard well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Joe Joe thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Damoza's head.
Damoza is trying to stand.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Damoza throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Joe Joe's waist but Joe Joe gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Damoza off to one side.

Joe Joe swats away the attempt to clinch by Damoza.
Joe Joe shoots for a double leg takedown but Damoza sprawls well. He's pushed Joe Joe's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Damoza has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Joe Joe is working away from the top position though.

Joe Joe thows a huge punch but Damoza dodges it nicely.

Joe Joe throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Joe Joe wants to control but Damoza is keeping him busy.
Damoza is trying to stand up here but Joe Joe is controlling him well.
Joe Joe seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Damoza does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Joe Joe decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Mojo Joe Joe showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Damoza misses with a double jab

and Joe Joe counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Damoza looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Damoza wants to stand and escape but Joe Joe is having none of it.
Joe Joe postures up in Damoza's guard and throws a big left but Damoza blocks it.
Joe Joe postures up and lands a big shot to Damoza's brow.

Damoza on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Damoza tries to get out of the position.
Damoza wants to stand but Joe Joe is controlling the position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Joe Joe won't allow Damoza to sweep him here.

Joe Joe stops Damoza from standing up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Damoza throws a sloppy head kick and Joe Joe moves out of range easily.

Damoza gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Mojo Joe Joe comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Joe Joe has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
