PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sikakama Satama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Puma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Satama might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Summoning - Where Winters Forever Cry. Sikakama Satama has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Puma throws a body punch but Satama moves out of range.
Puma lands a nice looking body shot.

Puma pushes Satama up against the cage in a clinch.

Puma trying to control the position but instead, Satama has worked for underhooks and has pushed Puma into the cage.

Satama has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Puma regains guard immediately.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Puma keeping full guard, as Satama tries to pass.
Puma is looking to stand up but Satama isn't so interested in that idea.
Satama is looking to work some ground and pound but Puma has wrist control.
Satama trying to control the position from guard on top but Puma is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Puma should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Satama working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Puma seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Satama tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Puma paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Puma moves into the clinch.
Satama stalls.
Satama has Puma pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Puma manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Satama fails to pull guard.
Satama tries to stall but Puma uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Puma tries to circle away but Satama has him pinned against the cage.
Satama is working for takedown but Puma is calmly controlling the position for now.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sikakama Satama. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Satama tries to break the clinch but Puma is controlling the position.

Puma is fighting off a takedown attempt but Satama is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Puma to the mat. Puma regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Satama wants to control from the top but Puma keeps moving.
Satama working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Puma can do anything to dispel that myth.
Satama is breathing heavily.
Puma wants to get back to his feet but Satama is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Satama drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Satama as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Puma screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Satama! Nice submission victory there!
