Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between crew kansaa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yamuza Akimocha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). crew kansaa could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Yamuza Akimocha's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, crew kansaa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Yamuza Akimocha!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Alexandre Firmino and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akimocha changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. kansaa tries to avoid it but Akimocha manages to keep hold of a leg and drag kansaa to the ground. kansaa escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Akimocha throws a hook but kansaa avoids it easily.
Akimocha tries to clinch but kansaa is having none of it.
Akimocha drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Akimocha misses with a looping right.
kansaa closes the distance and pushes Akimocha back into the cage.
kansaa manages to break the clinch.
kansaa lands with a kick to the ribs.
Akimocha shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with kansaa but kansaa pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and kansaa counters with a shoot takedown. Akimocha fights it but they end up in guard.
kansaa has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Akimocha is on top in guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
kansaa wants to stand and escape but Akimocha is having none of it.
Akimocha sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed kansaa's guard.
kansaa is trying to stand back up but Akimocha is controlling him

kansaa really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Akimocha seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

kansaa pushes Akimocha off and gets back to his feet.
kansaa shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Akimocha has a closed guard, preventing kansaa from standing up.
Akimocha is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
kansaa might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Akimocha is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
kansaa makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

It looks like Yamuza Akimocha has been cut.
Akimocha throws a right hand that kansaa ducks under and follows up with a left that kansaa also avoids with ease.
kansaa lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
kansaa takes the fight into the clinch.
kansaa lands a knee to the head.
Akimocha is trying to break the clinch but kansaa has him pressed against the cage.
kansaa jumps guard and drags Akimocha to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Akimocha stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. kansaa swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Akimocha wants to control from the top but kansaa keeps moving.

Akimocha stops kansaa from standing up.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
kansaa has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Akimocha off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
kansaa with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
kansaa drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Akimocha takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

kansaa looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
kansaa uses his free foot to push down on Akimocha's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Akimocha.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
kansaa looking to ground and pound but Akimocha is blocking nicely.
Akimocha is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
kansaa looking to control but Akimocha is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
kansaa is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
kansaa throws a combination that misses
and Akimocha counters with a left to the body.
Akimocha throws a shot from downtown. kansaa moves away and avoids it.
kansaa closes the distance and clinches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
kansaa shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Akimocha's guard.
Akimocha is trying to control the position from the bottom.
kansaa has gone for a leg lock! Akimocha slips out almost immediately though and dives into kansaa's guard.
Akimocha gets to his feet - kansaa follows without any prompting.
kansaa fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Akimocha throws a leg kick
and kansaa counters with a two punch combo.

kansaa breaks from the clinch.
kansaa scores with a head kick.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
kansaa throws a right and a left that both miss.
Yamuza Akimocha seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and kansaa counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Akimocha!
kansaa jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Akimocha manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Akimocha gets back to half guard.
kansaa is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Akimocha is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of kansaa's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take kansaa's back!
Akimocha looking to hold on to the position here but kansaa rolls and ends up regaining guard.
Akimocha controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
kansaa pushes Akimocha off looking to stand but Akimocha dives back in and keeps control.
Akimocha in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. kansaa tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Akimocha!
