Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between james lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jeff Martin is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, james lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jeff Martin!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Jonathan Paton and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martin connects with a solid leg kick.

Martin darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
lee is trying to control but can't.

lee manages to escape and get back to his feet!
The fight stays on the outside here - lee looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Martin scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Martin is looking to advance position but lee won't allow it.

Martin is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Martin is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
lee is looking for a sweep. Martin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

lee is refusing to be controlled, as Martin sits in half guard.
lee trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Martin manages to pass to mount!

Martin is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But lee has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from lee!
lee has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Martin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
lee wants to control from the top but Martin keeps moving.

lee slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
lee passes easily into side control. Nice work.
lee lands a nice forearm strike.
Martin is not content to let lee control the position.
lee scoring with punches and elbows.

lee connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Martin some visible discomfort.
lee advances to mount.
lee with a couple of short strikes.
lee controlling his opponent.
lee can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Martin is looking to escape.
lee has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Martin's face.

lee tries to control but Martin wriggling away.

lee wants to finish this one by submission but Martin is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from lee.

lee is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

lee moves into range and clinches up with Martin.

Martin wants to pass the guard but lee is keeping the position.

That was a close round but I would say that james lee will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

The referee calls for lee to work.
lee tries to stall but Martin uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
lee drops down looking for an ankle pick but Martin pulls his leg out and moves away.
lee shoots in for a takedown but Martin shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for james lee. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Martin fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. lee sprawls well initially but Martin persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Martin stands up out of the half guard.
lee doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Martin counters with a nice double leg into guard.
lee looking for a sweep. Not yet lee, not yet.

lee utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
lee controls Martin momentarily but Martin frees himself.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

lee closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Martin did well to prevent lee getting side control.
lee is trying to control the action in half guard but Martin is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Martin wants to improve his position but lee is controlling well.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Martin manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
lee seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Jeff Martin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! lee's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Jeff Martin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Martin is trying hard to land a takedown here. lee sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

lee pulls Martin in close to prevent any damage.

Martin drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Martin jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
lee throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from lee is defended easily by Martin.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Martin shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. lee manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Martin works over lee with some ground and pound from guard.

lee seems keen to control Martin's posture.
lee not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
lee is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Martin dives into side control.

lee is trying to control Martin's posture but Martin avoids it.

Martin tries for a kimura but lee is defending well.
lee can't do much from the bottom here.

Martin thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
You can see the frustration on lee's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
lee tries to bench press Martin off him but Martin keeps the position.

Martin tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Martin is looking to take a break and control but lee is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jeff Martin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Martin has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
