Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jose Jury! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joey Rigatoni! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jury dives in and grabs Rigatoni's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rigatoni pushes down on Jury's head and hops out. Rigatoni leaves Jury with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Rigatoni fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jury sprawls well initially but Rigatoni persists and gets the takedown into half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Rigatoni prevents Jury from standing back up.
Rigatoni is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Jury has managed to free his arm - good work. Rigatoni decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Jury clinches up against the cage. Jury changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Rigatoni fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jose Jury. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rigatoni closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Rigatoni is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rigatoni is looking to stall here but Jury recovers full guard. Rigatoni trying to control the position from guard on top but Jury is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jury looking for a sweep. Not yet Jury, not yet. Jury working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Rigatoni. Rigatoni missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Rigatoni wants to control from the top but Jury keeps moving.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Jury closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Rigatoni tries to pull guard but Jury holds him up against the cage and eventually Rigatoni drops back down to his feet.
Rigatoni gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jury trying to keep a closed guard but Rigatoni is proving a slippery customer.
Jury is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Rigatoni is controlling him. Jury wants to sweep but no luck. Rigatoni stays in close to Jury's body and controls the position. Rigatoni wants to control from the top but Jury keeps moving. Rigatoni stopping the sweep attempt from Jury.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rigatoni is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Jury controls Rigatoni momentarily but Rigatoni frees himself.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Rigatoni darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Rigatoni winds up and cracks Jury with a swinging punch to the side of the head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rigatoni seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jury does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Jury is trying to maintain the position but Rigatoni is very close to passing his half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rigatoni missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Rigatoni lands with a punch from half guard. Jury wants to control but Rigatoni is keeping busy and won't allow it. Jury is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rigatoni pulls his head out easily. Jury is breathing heavily. Rigatoni thows a huge punch but Jury dodges it nicely.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Rigatoni has Jury up against the cage in a clinch.
Rigatoni has Jury pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Jury manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Rigatoni is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Jury gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Rigatoni landing knees to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joey Rigatoni dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

It looks like Jose Jury has been cut. Rigatoni loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Jury striking off his back but it's not causing Rigatoni any problems. Rigatoni trying to control the position from guard on top but Jury is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Rigatoni is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Rigatoni's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Rigatoni gets to his feet - Jury follows without any prompting. Jury really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Rigatoni is breathing heavily. Jury forces Rigatoni back against the cage and clinches.

Rigatoni looking for a sweep. Not yet Rigatoni, not yet. Jury advances position into side control! Jury decides to stand up, so the ref orders Rigatoni to his feet. Jury misses with a takedown and Rigatoni counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Rigatoni. Rigatoni drops down looking for an ankle pick but Jury pulls his leg out and moves away.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Jury has his feet on Rigatoni's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Rigatoni gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Rigatoni tries to land a sweep but no joy. Rigatoni utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Rigatoni working for submissions but it's allowed Jury to get to half guard.

Jury trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Rigatoni has momentary wrist control but Jury slips an elbow through the middle. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Rigatoni is working an open guard so Jury takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Jury throws a head kick that misses and Rigatoni counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Jury's guard now. Jury avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joey Rigatoni showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Jose Jury's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Rigatoni gets to his feet - Jury follows without any prompting.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jury throws a lazy head kick and Rigatoni counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Rigatoni prevents Jury from improving his position. Rigatoni seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jury does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Joey Rigatoni has got the better of the ground game so far. Rigatoni throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Jury regains full guard. Nicely done. Jury managing to control the position. Rigatoni trying to control but Jury is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rigatoni stands and steps away. Jury gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Jury connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Rigatoni momentarily.
Jose Jury seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jury shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Rigatoni counters with a nice double leg into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Rigatoni working the head and body with strikes. Rigatoni is looking to take a break and control but Jury is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Joey Rigatoni comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Rigatoni winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
