Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Mclevain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mason Capwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, David Mclevain! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mason Capwell! The judges for this bout are , and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Capwell throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Mclevain gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Capwell postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Capwell trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Capwell trying to control but Mclevain is working from the bottom. Capwell drops back, looking for a kneebar! Mclevain looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Mclevain looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Mclevain! You can see the frustration on Capwell's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Capwell controls the position for a moment. Mclevain wants to lay and pray for a moment but Capwell keeps working. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Capwell can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's one minute gone in the round. Capwell sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Mclevain wants to control but Capwell is keeping him busy. Capwell keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Capwell tries to get to full guard but Mclevain has control of the leg. Mclevain not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Mclevain trying to control the action but Capwell is working from the bottom. Capwell moves into full guard.
Capwell wants to sweep here but Mclevain controlling him for the moment. Capwell is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Capwell looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Mclevain wants to pass the guard but Capwell is keeping the position. Capwell controlling the position. Capwell tries to land a sweep but no joy. Capwell keeping moving, preventing Mclevain from controlling successfully. Capwell is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Mason Capwell. Capwell shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mclevain's guard. Mclevain utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Capwell makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Capwell is looking to work some ground and pound but Mclevain has wrist control. Mclevain keeping full guard, as Capwell tries to pass. Capwell throws and elbow that misses. Mclevain uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Capwell's guard. Nice move by Mclevain! Capwell managing to control the position. Mclevain stopping the sweep attempt from Capwell. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Capwell wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Mclevain trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Capwell has control of Mclevain's left arm, preventing Mclevain from doing any damage. Capwell keeping moving, preventing Mclevain from controlling successfully. Capwell is controlling Mclevain's posture. Mclevain wants to control from the top but Capwell keeps moving. Capwell pulls Mclevain in close to prevent any damage. Mclevain stopping the sweep attempt from Capwell. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mason Capwell dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Capwell pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Mclevain misses with a takedown and Capwell counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Capwell is trying to control. Mclevain wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Mclevain wants to control but Capwell is keeping busy.

That's one minute gone in the round. Capwell is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mclevain is just riding it out for now. Capwell eventually gives up the hold. Capwell keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Capwell connects with a nice short shot to Mclevain's temple. Capwell thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mclevain's head. Capwell missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Capwell not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Capwell seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Capwell has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mclevain on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Capwell is trying to control. Mclevain wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Mclevain avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Capwell. Capwell with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Let's hope that Capwell has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Capwell accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Capwell scoring with some ground and pound. Mclevain avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Capwell advances to half guard. Capwell trying to control the action but Mclevain is working from the bottom. Capwell looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Capwell looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mclevain with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Capwell throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Capwell lands a nice short elbow. Capwell is taking a breather. Mclevain says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mason Capwell showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Capwell scores with a punch to the head. Mason Capwell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Capwell moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Capwell ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Capwell lands a jab. Capwell cracks Mclevain with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes. Capwell scores with a jab to the jaw. Mclevain closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Capwell lands a nice hook to Mclevain's body. Mclevain takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Capwell lands a right hook to the body.
Capwell swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Mclevain. Capwell with a jab. Capwell lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

That's one minute gone in the round. Capwell lands with a nice body punch. Mclevain has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Mclevain there as he acknowledges the shot. Mason Capwell seems to be getting the better of the standup. Nice shot lands for Capwell. Capwell shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Mclevain is trying to defend but Capwell finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Capwell is trying to work for a kimura but Mclevain is defending well.

Capwell is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Mclevain sees it coming and defends easily. Capwell sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Mclevain defending well though. Capwell lands strikes from half guard. Capwell looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Capwell not landing any meaningful shots this time. Capwell has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Capwell not landing any meaningful shots this time. Mclevain is looking to control Capwell's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Mclevain avoid being mounted? Capwell takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Capwell is looking to take a break and control but Mclevain is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Capwell slips a nice elbow through Mclevain's hands, connecting with Mclevain's forehead.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mclevain has hold of Capwell's hands but Capwell slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Capwell wants to free his trapped foot but Mclevain is holding on for dear life with his legs. Capwell working over Mclevain with some ground and pound. Mclevain looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Capwell throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Capwell missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Capwell looks to score some points with some ground and pound. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Capwell takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. David Mclevain has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Mason Capwell is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Capwell takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
And that's the end of the fight! Mason Capwell comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Capwell has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
