Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Ronald Williams! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Craig Mantil! The judges for this bout are James Glass, James Ackerman and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mantil throws a right hand that Williams ducks under and follows up with a left that Williams also avoids with ease. Mantil looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Williams throws a hook to the side of Mantil's head but Mantil sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Mantil throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Williams misses with a looping right. Williams throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Williams throws out a loose jab but Mantil uses good head movement to avoid it. Mantil fails in his attempt to clinch. Mantil shoots in but no luck this time. Williams looks to land a left hand but Mantil moved out of range nicely. Williams looks to land a right hand but Mantil moved out of range. Williams throws an overhand right that lands on Mantil's shoulder, as Mantil tries to avoid the shot. Williams waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Mantil. Williams stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Williams wants it to stay on the feet. Mantil moves in looking to clinch but Williams pushes him off. Mantil is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Williams waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Mantil. Williams loads up on a big right hand but Mantil slips the punch. Williams throws a big shot that misses. A telegraphed right hand from Williams misses the target. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Williams drops Mantil with a big left hand and mounts him. Mantil is in big trouble!
Mantil is rocked!
It looks like Craig Mantil has been cut. Williams unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Mantil wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Williams celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:02 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ronald Williams!
