Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alejandro Cabrera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryan Smith has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryan Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alejandro Cabrera!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cabrera throws a sloppy head kick and Smith moves out of range easily.
A slapping leg kick lands for Cabrera.

Smith feints and as Cabrera raises his hands in defense, Smith changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Cabrera should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Smith in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Smith won't allow Cabrera to sweep him here.

Cabrera tries to roll over but Smith keeps him under control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Cabrera throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Smith is defended easily by Cabrera.

Cabrera dodges the ground and pound from Smith.
Cabrera is trying to improve his position.
Cabrera regains half guard, as Smith was trying to land strikes.
Smith has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Cabrera tries to roll over but Smith keeps him under control.

Smith prevents Cabrera from standing back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Smith lands a nice short elbow.
Cabrera is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Smith throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Smith prevents Cabrera from improving his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smith is taking a breather. Cabrera says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Smith shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Smith swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Cabrera is now in Smith's guard. A big mistake from Smith there, giving up the dominant position!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Smith gets to his feet. Cabrera looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Cabrera regains full guard. Nicely done.
Ryan Smith overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Cabrera looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Smith puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Cabrera makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Cabrera.

Cabrera has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Smith can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

and Smith decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Cabrera's guard.

Cabrera bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Smith's guard.

Smith shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cabrera pinned against the cage. Cabrera gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Smith closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Smith lands in his opponent's guard.

Cabrera might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Smith kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Smith, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
