Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Masaaki Fujiyama!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Pekka Saaste!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saaste shoots in looking for a takedown. Fujiyama tries to sprawl out of it but Saaste keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fujiyama manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Saaste takes one to the chin there.
Saaste throws the kick towards the body but Fujiyama avoids it.
Saaste shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Fujiyama as he avoids it easily.

Fujiyama fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Saaste checks it well.

Fujiyama scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Saaste jumps guard but Fujiyama stands there with Saaste around his waist. Saaste gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Saaste thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Fujiyama's head.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Fujiyama holds on and takes a little breather.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Horrible takedown by Saaste or perhaps it was just good defense by Fujiyama which made him look bad.

Fujiyama seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Saaste for as long as he can get away with.

Fujiyama has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
