Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Da Cougar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Hammar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cougar comes to the ring accompanied by Those Damn Blue Collar Tweekers. Hammar has chosen STAIND as his entrance music. Jack Hammar acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Da Cougar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jack Hammar!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hammar tries to clinch up.
Cougar looks to clinch

and Hammar counters by clinching up.
Cougar tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hammar just stands there and leans against the ropes.
Cougar creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Cougar takes a knee right on the jaw!

Cougar pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Hammar misses with a head kick.
Cougar has a takedown stuffed.
Hammar throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Hammar throws a nice head kick!
Cougar clinches but Hammar breaks the clinch

and Cougar is countered with a crisp right hand from Hammar that sends him to the canvas! Hammar follows him to the mat into side control.


Cougar is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hammar tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Cougar is looking to regain half guard here but Hammar keeps moving and retains side control.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hammar is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Cougar knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Cougar gets back to half guard.
Hammar prevents Cougar from improving his position.
Cougar is looking to control Hammar's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Cougar avoid being mounted?
Cougar is looking for a sweep. Hammar is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Hammar seems to be working for a kimura but Cougar defends the submission attempt.
Cougar gets back to full guard.
Hammar stopping the sweep attempt from Cougar.
Cougar keeping moving, preventing Hammar from controlling successfully.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Cougar throws a head kick that misses.
Cougar misses with a jab, cross combination.
Cougar ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hammar moves away.
Hammar clinches but Cougar breaks the clinch

and Cougar counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Cougar wants a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Da Cougar. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hammar pushes off an throws an elbow but Cougar leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the ropes.

Hammar breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hammar throws a right and a left that both miss.
Hammar closes the distance looking to clinch
and Cougar makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Hammar really felt that one!
Hammar looks gassed!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hammar tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Cougar counters with a shoot takedown. Hammar fights it but they end up in guard.
Cougar stopping the sweep attempt from Hammar.
Hammar is trying to control the position but Cougar postures up.
Cougar showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Cougar has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Cougar trying to control but Hammar is working from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jack Hammar will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Hammar clinches up with Cougar and pushes him back against the ropes.

Hammar ties up his opponent against the ropes and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Hammar no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Cougar wants to control from the top but Hammar keeps moving.
Cougar stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hammar swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Cougar is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Hammar has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Cougar is looking to defend but Hammar has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Cougar! Hammar pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Cougar taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Jack Hammar!
