Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Paul Bruens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donny Hammerson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bruens comes to the cage accompanied by River Below. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Donny Hammerson! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A jab lands there for Hammerson. Hammerson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Bruens. Hammerson lands a nice shot to the body.
Hammerson scores with a nice right hand.
Bruens tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hammerson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bruens somewhat. Bruens closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hammerson to the mat! Hammerson manages to get full guard. Bruens trying to control but Hammerson is working from the bottom. Hammerson is pulling down on Bruens's head. It's preventing any offense from Bruens, at least for the moment. Bruens looking to pass the guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bruens is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Bruens wants to control from the top but Hammerson keeps moving. Hammerson wants to stand and escape but Bruens is having none of it. Hammerson is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Hammerson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Bruens pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Bruens landing shots from mount. Bruens trying to control but Hammerson is having none of it. Bruens has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Hammerson's face.

Bruens closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Bruens lands in his opponent's guard. Bruens trying to control but Hammerson is working from the bottom. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bruens accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hammerson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's one minute gone in the round. Bruens trying to control but Hammerson is working from the bottom. Hammerson has momentary wrist control but Bruens slips an elbow through the middle. Hammerson isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Bruens stacks Hammerson on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Bruens! Hammerson defending against the ground and pound. Hammerson prevents Bruens from moving into mount. Hammerson is trying to control Bruens's posture but Bruens avoids it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Bruens landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Bruens misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Bruens working the ground and pound. Hammerson sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Ground and pound from Bruens. Bruens is figuring out what he wants to do next. Hammerson trying to control but Bruens postures up.

Bruens throwing shots but Hammerson is blocking nicely. Bruens keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Bruens has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Bruens is thwarting Hammerson's attempts to control the position. Hammerson is trying to stand up here but Bruens is controlling him well.

Hammerson was covering up waiting for the punch and Bruens finishes the takedown easily into guard. Hammerson wants to stand and escape but Bruens is having none of it. That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Bruens is keen to just control but Hammerson is a slippery customer. Bruens is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Bruens in particular looking to stall. Hammerson wants to get back to his feet.

Paul Bruens had his way with Donny Hammerson in that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Bruens uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Hammerson. Hammerson tries to bum rush Bruens with a series of wild strikes but Bruens uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Bruens shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hammerson as he jumps to the side. Bruens will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Hammerson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Bruens shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hammerson but Hammerson pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paul Bruens. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bruens dives in and grabs Hammerson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hammerson pushes down on Bruens's head and hops out. Hammerson missing with a left hand there. Bruens was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Bruens feints and as Hammerson raises his hands in defense, Bruens changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Bruens might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Hammerson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Bruens is looking to work some ground and pound but Hammerson has wrist control. Bruens won't allow Hammerson to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bruens postures up in Hammerson's guard and throws a big left but Hammerson blocks it. Bruens wants to control from the top but Hammerson keeps moving. Hammerson scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Hammerson is wobbling all over the place through exhaustion. Will he make it to the final bell? Bruens scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Bruens controlling the action here. Bruens seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hammerson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bruens prevents Hammerson from improving his position. Hammerson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Bruens's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Bruens's back! Bruens is really stuck here.
Bruens manages to reverse the position and now he's in Hammerson's guard. Nice work there by Bruens.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Hammerson is not content to let Bruens control the position. You can see the frustration on Hammerson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Hammerson being controlled for a moment. Hammerson is trying to control Bruens's posture but Bruens avoids it. Donny Hammerson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Hammerson is not content to let Bruens control the position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Bruens looks up at the clock and then as Hammerson takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Bruens smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
And that's the end of the fight! Paul Bruens showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bruens, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
