The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rampaasi.

Rampaasi fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rice sprawls well initially but Rampaasi persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Rice is trying to stand up here but Rampaasi is controlling him well.

Rampaasi looks for a takedown but Rice sprawls well.

Rampaasi moves in looking to clinch but Rice pushes him off.

Rampaasi bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

That has opened up Quinton Rampaasi's cut even more.
Rice connects with a good right hand that stumbles Rampaasi. Rampaasi circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rampaasi accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
