Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alvaro De Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kato Denis!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Ian Loll and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Silva dives in and grabs Denis's left leg, looking for a takedown. Denis pushes down on De Silva's head and hops out.
Denis tries to clinch up.
De Silva fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
De Silva gets a takedown into half guard.
De Silva controlling the pace.
De Silva seems to be working for a kimura but Denis defends the submission attempt.
De Silva is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Denis punching from the bottom.

De Silva is working for a submission of some sort.
De Silva stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Denis to get to his feet.
De Silva avoids the head kick by Denis.
Denis moves in looking to clinch but De Silva pushes him off.
Denis is looking to clinch.
Denis keeps the fight on the outside.
Denis tries to clinch but De Silva moves out of range.
De Silva shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alvaro De Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.
De Silva looks for a takedown but Denis sprawls well.
De Silva throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Denis was covering up waiting for the punch and De Silva finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
De Silva decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
De Silva is breathing heavily.
De Silva takes a kick to the side of the head.
Denis tries to clinch up
so De Silva counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Denis can't keep his opponent in guard - De Silva advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
De Silva has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Denis defend it? De Silva steps over the head and cranks it - Denis is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for De Silva!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Alvaro De Silva!
