Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jimbo Bond! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kenneth Mensah! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Albert Achterberg and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mensah closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Mensah lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Bond is looking for a sweep. Mensah is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Mensah is nestled in close to Bond, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mensah landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Mensah lands a nice short elbow. Mensah is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Mensah wants to work for an arm triangle but Bond is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Mensah working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Mensah maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Bond could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Mensah has cracked it and Bond is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Mensah!
