PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ive Nackershort (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Daley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nackershort comes into the arena with The Rocky Theme blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 1, fighting out of London, Ive Nackershort!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Daley!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Andrew Berry and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nackershort dodges the punch combination from Daley.
Daley throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Nackershort clinches.
Nackershort misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Daley.
Daley tries to circle away but Nackershort has him pinned against the cage.
Nackershort drops down looking for an ankle pick but Daley pulls his leg out and moves away.
A decent looking cross lands there for Daley.

Nackershort fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Daley, pushing him back against the cage.
Daley wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Daley looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Daley takes a knee right on the jaw!


It looks like Paul Daley has been cut.
Daley wants to break the clinch but can't.

Nackershort content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Nackershort obliges.
Nackershort scores a nice knee to the body.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Daley is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Daley rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Nackershort moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Daley scores with a one two! Nackershort had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Daley throws a hook to the side of Nackershort's head but Nackershort sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Paul Daley is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Daley misses with a wild body shot.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Nackershort shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Nackershort showed some decent athleticism there.

Nackershort seems to be looking for submissions.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Nackershort, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
