1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jary Bazu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mihail Medvedev! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Dmitry Maklakov and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bazu fails to land the takedown. Medvedev looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Medvedev keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Medvedev bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Bazu is looking to reverse the position. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Medvedev tries for a kimura but Bazu is defending well. Bazu tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Medvedev wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Bazu regains half guard. Bazu is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Medvedev pulls his head out easily. Bazu keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bazu is defending against the submission attempts here by Medvedev.

Medvedev throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Medvedev thows a huge punch but Bazu dodges it nicely.
Medvedev trying to control the action but Bazu is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Bazu misses with a takedown attempt and Medvedev counters with a shoot takedown. Bazu fights it but they end up in guard. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jary Bazu. That's going to take a lot out of him. Medvedev thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Medvedev wants to control from the top but Bazu keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Medvedev pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bazu is keeping the position for now. Medvedev drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Medvedev jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Bazu keeping moving, preventing Medvedev from controlling successfully. Medvedev has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Medvedev is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Bazu working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Medvedev doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Medvedev manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Medvedev drops back looking for a leg! Bazu is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bazu manages to kick Medvedev off! Medvedev jumps back into Bazu's guard.

Medvedev looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Medvedev working Bazu over with strikes. Bazu is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Medvedev pulls his head out easily. Bazu throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Medvedev's head. Bazu tries for a takedown but Medvedev circles away easily and Medvedev counters with a takedown into side control. Medvedev working the ground and pound from side control. Bazu tries to bench press Medvedev off him but Medvedev keeps the position. Medvedev thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Medvedev is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bazu knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Medvedev lands a nice forearm strike. Bazu is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Medvedev's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Medvedev lands strikes from half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bazu looking for submissions off his back. Bazu actively working from the bottom here. Bazu looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Medvedev is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Bazu is refusing to be controlled, as Medvedev sits in half guard. Medvedev seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Bazu is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
