Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Song Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aki Sirkesalo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Song Lee! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Aki Sirkesalo! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yuuki Gou and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sirkesalo slips a jab and a cross from Lee.
Lee looks to land a combination but Sirkesalo avoids it well. Sirkesalo thows a body shot but no joy. Lee dodges the punch combination from Sirkesalo.
A shot to the body from Lee misses and Sirkesalo cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Lee dives in and grabs Sirkesalo's left leg, looking for a takedown. Sirkesalo pushes down on Lee's head and hops out. Sirkesalo lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Lee backs up against the ropes.

Sirkesalo ducks under a wild hook from Lee. Lee misses with an uppercut. Sirkesalo throws a nice looking combination but Lee bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Sirkesalo misses with a double jab
so Lee counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Lee throwing strikes but missing. Lee stopping the sweep attempt from Sirkesalo. Lee working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lee missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Sirkesalo has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Lee has passed into side control.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Sirkesalo sneaks back into half guard. Lee is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Sirkesalo is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Sirkesalo keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Sirkesalo keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Lee is trying to work for a kimura but Sirkesalo is defending well.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. The crowd cheers as Sirkesalo lands an impressive looking overhand right. Lee doesn't seem phased though. Sirkesalo cracks Lee with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Lee swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Lee throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Lee misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Lee moves out of range of the strikes. Lee shoots in for a takedown but Sirkesalo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Sirkesalo throws a right and a left that Lee avoids nicely. Lee misses the body punch and Sirkesalo counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Sirkesalo swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Lee counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Sirkesalo thinking. Lee scores with a jab to the body. Lee gets a clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lee is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the ropes. Sirkesalo looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. A short right hand to the side of the head by Lee. Lee is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Sirkesalo blocking some punches.

Lee is looking to wear down Sirkesalo with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Lee shoots in and drives through. Sirkesalo sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Song Lee. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lee takes the fight into the clinch. Lee prevents Sirkesalo from breaking the clinch. Lee is pushing Sirkesalo up against the ropes, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Sirkesalo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Lee dives in and grabs Sirkesalo's left leg, looking for a takedown. Sirkesalo pushes down on Lee's head and hops out. Sirkesalo scores with a one two! Lee had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Sirkesalo misses with a double jab.
Lee throws a jab when Sirkesalo was well out of range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Aki Sirkesalo will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.
Sirkesalo moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Sirkesalo showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Lee.
Lee misses with a combination
and Sirkesalo counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Lee tries to clinch up. Some wild striking there from Sirkesalo.
Lee lands with a straight right. Sirkesalo didn't see that one coming. Nice takedown defense from Sirkesalo. No joy for Lee on that attempt. Lee tries to close the distance and clinch but Sirkesalo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Sirkesalo swinging wildly here.

Sirkesalo wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Lee lands an uppercut. Sirkesalo breaks the clinch.

Lee gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Sirkesalo lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lee circles away quickly and effectively. Sirkesalo thows a body shot but no joy. Lee loads up on a big right hand but Sirkesalo slips the punch. Sirkesalo connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Song Lee is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Lee shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sirkesalo sprawls well. Sirkesalo wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Lee gets slowly back to his feet. Lee showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Sirkesalo.
Lee throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Sirkesalo on the side of the head. Lee walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Lee closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Sirkesalo to the mat! Sirkesalo manages to get full guard. Sirkesalo keeping moving, preventing Lee from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lee tries to free his leg and advance position but Sirkesalo is retaining full guard. Lee missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Lee throwing strikes but missing. Sirkesalo tries to land a sweep but no joy. Lee trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Sirkesalo misses with the combination.

Lee is looking to take a break and control but Sirkesalo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Sirkesalo wants to control but Lee is keeping busy.

and Lee counters with a nice double leg into guard. Lee pushes down on Sirkesalo's leg and manages to get into half guard. Sirkesalo avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Lee. Sirkesalo blocking the ground and pound attempt from Lee. Lee with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Lee is looking to take a break and control but Sirkesalo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Lee has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lee is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Sirkesalo is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Lee stalling away here and it's allowed Sirkesalo to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Lee postures up.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Lee wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sirkesalo keeps working. Lee in side control, throwing shots but Sirkesalo defends. Lee swings around for an armbar but Sirkesalo sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Lee's guard. Lee is trying to keep Sirkesalo in close.

Both fighters are breathing heavily. Sirkesalo trying to control but Lee is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Sirkesalo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Lee looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Song Lee overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Sirkesalo got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lee has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sirkesalo has managed to get both his arms back between Lee's legs - danger averted. Sirkesalo wants to control from the top but Lee keeps moving.
And that's the end of the fight! Song Lee showed his dominance in that final round. I think Lee has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
