Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lucius Shine!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Robert York!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Skip Squint and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shine slips a jab and a cross from York.
Shine closes the distance and clinches up with York, looking for a takedown. Shine pushes York against the cage but York circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Shine throws a series of punches but York avoids them all with ease.
York takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Shine pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
York defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Shine.
York lands a jab-cross combination.
York swinging wildly here.
York looks to score with a jab to the body but Shine is just out of range.
York fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Shine checks it well.

and Shine decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in York's guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if York can do anything to dispel that myth.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
York takes a shot to the body in his stride.

and Shine counters with a stiff right hand.
York throws a head kick that Shine semi-blocks.
York stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and York wants it to stay on the feet.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Shine is breathing heavily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

York wants to sweep but no luck.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and York counters with a big head kick but Shine shrugs it off.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Lucius Shine will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

I would just about give that final round to Robert York.
