Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Genzo Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Crimson Rayne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Genzo Smith! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Crimson Rayne! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Bruno Hogan and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith fails with a takedown attempt. Nice sprawl there from Rayne as Smith shoots in. Rayne throws a sloppy head kick and Smith moves out of range easily. Smith shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Rayne manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Smith's corner is telling him to maintain position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Rayne for as long as he can get away with.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Genzo Smith. Rayne throws a head kick but Smith moves out of range.
Rayne scores with a jab. Smith acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
It looks like Genzo Smith has been cut. Rayne lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Smith shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Smith showed some decent athleticism there. Smith thows a huge punch but Rayne dodges it nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Smith working over Rayne with some ground and pound. Rayne looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Smith seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smith prevents Rayne from standing back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Smith slows the pace down in half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Genzo Smith. Smith shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Smith is taking a breather. Rayne says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smith trying to mount his opponent but Rayne defends it. Smith with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Smith thows a huge punch but Rayne dodges it nicely.
Smith is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Rayne reverses the position - he's now on top in Smith's guard. Smith is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Rayne looks gassed! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Genzo Smith dominated that round. The cut man is working on Genzo Smith's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Smith shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Smith lands a big elbow. Smith sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Rayne tries to buck Smith off but he can't manage it. Smith takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Rayne is breathing heavily.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Genzo Smith just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Rayne throws a head kick but Smith moves out of range.
Smith dives in and grabs Rayne's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rayne pushes down on Smith's head and hops out. Smith closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Rayne did well to prevent Smith getting side control. Smith looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smith is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Genzo Smith overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Smith landing strikes from the mount and Rayne is in trouble! Smith with a couple of short strikes. Smith looking to control and managing it successfully. Smith unloading with bombs!

The referee stands the fighters back up. Genzo Smith just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Smith decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smith works his way into side control. Smith is staying tight to Rayne's torso, preventing him from escaping. Smith lands a decent elbow from side control. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Rayne on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Smith in side control, just content to control the action for now. Smith's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Genzo Smith dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Genzo Smith's cut. That's time! Smith's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Smith looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rayne is fending him off so far but Smith persists. Nope, Rayne circles away and we're back to standing. Rayne gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Smith to score an easy takedown into full guard. Smith is stalling in the full guard. Smith slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Rayne wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Rayne takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee asks Smith politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Smith prefers to stall for the moment though.

He's got his arms around Rayne's waist but Rayne gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Smith off to one side. Rayne throws a series of punches but Smith moves out of range. Smith bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Smith controlling the position from side mount. Smith is putting a hurting on Rayne here, landing some big shots from side control. Smith remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rayne wants it to stay on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Genzo Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith closes the distance and clinches up with Rayne, looking for a takedown. Smith pushes Rayne against the cage but Rayne circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Smith shoots for a takedown but Rayne saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Rayne swinging wildly here.
Smith shoots in for a takedown but Rayne shows good takedown defense. Smith tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rayne sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Smith somewhat. Smith shoots in for a double leg but Rayne sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Smith shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rayne pinned against the cage. Rayne gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Rayne connects with a high kick. Rayne connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Rayne slaps away a takedown attempt from Smith, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rayne throws a head kick that half lands.

Crimson Rayne has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Smith bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Rayne is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Smith creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. You can see the frustration on Rayne's face as Smith controls the position. Genzo Smith is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
And that's the end of the fight! Genzo Smith showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Smith, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
