Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tyson Woolard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darnell Turner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tyson Woolard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Darnell Turner!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turner circles away from the clinch attempt.
Turner pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Turner feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Turner looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Woolard wants to get back to his feet but Turner is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Turner must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Woolard ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Woolard no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Turner seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Turner bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Turner has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Woolard closes the distance and clinches.

Turner pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Turner shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Turner showed some decent athleticism there.

Woolard is trying to stand back up but Turner is controlling him
Turner is pressing down on Woolard's thigh, looking to free his foot. Woolard is holding on for now.
Turner is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Turner wants to take a breather but Woolard is having none of it.

Turner throws a strike but Woolard avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Turner shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Woolard is trying to defend but Turner finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Woolard makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Turner is trying escape back to his feet. He turns into his opponent's guard and eventually finds his way back to his feet.
Woolard takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

and Woolard counters by clinching up.
Turner is breathing heavily.

Turner is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Woolard tries to clinch but Turner moves out of range.

Darnell Turner showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Turner goes for an armbar but Woolard turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Woolard.

Turner throws a hook to the side of Woolard's head but Woolard sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

and Woolard counters with a nice low kick that buckles Turner's knee momentarily.

Woolard closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
