The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Skip Squint and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DeAngelo decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Wallace is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
DeAngelo seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
DeAngelo is keen to just control but Wallace is a slippery customer.
Wallace wants to get back to full guard.
Wallace tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Wallace tries to get to full guard but DeAngelo has control of the leg.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Wallace with a lazy takedown attempt
and DeAngelo counters with a three punch combo that has Wallace backing up. Wallace nods at DeAngelo to acknowledge the strikes.
Wallace shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and DeAngelo counters with an outside leg kick.
DeAngelo throws a head kick but Wallace moves out of range.
Wallace doesn't succeed with the takedown
so DeAngelo counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dewanye Wallace. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Wallace is breathing heavily.
Wallace is looking to sweep but instead, DeAngelo has passed into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
DeAngelo not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Wallace is looking to improve his position.
DeAngelo trying to control the action but Wallace is working from the bottom.
Wallace tries to get to full guard but DeAngelo has control of the leg.
DeAngelo has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Wallace defend it? DeAngelo steps over the head and cranks it - Wallace is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for DeAngelo!
