The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harkness lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Harkness throws a nice inside leg kick.
Penn has a takedown stuffed.
Penn shoots in but no luck this time.
The fight stays on the outside here - Penn looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Harkness tries a head kick but it misses.
Penn decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Penn is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Harkness tries to get to full guard but Penn has control of the leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Harkness is trying to stand.
Harkness is looking to improve his position.

Harkness tries to roll over but Penn keeps him under control.
Penn drops an elbow to the side of Harkness's head.
Penn really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Penn is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Harkness is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
