Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, H Heinz Roosevelt! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Matt Sanzig! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Steve Erwin and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roosevelt tries to clinch up but Sanzig circles away and keeps his distance. Roosevelt tries to clinch there but Sanzig circles away.
Roosevelt wants to clinch up but Sanzig keeps it at a distance. Sanzig will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Roosevelt tries to clinch but Sanzig is having none of it. Sanzig swings for the body but Roosevelt moves out of range.
Roosevelt finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Roosevelt tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sanzig paws at him with a jab and circles away. Sanzig shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Roosevelt's guard. Sanzig looking to pass the guard. Roosevelt can't keep his opponent in guard - Sanzig advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Sanzig is trying to work for a kimura but Roosevelt is defending well.
Sanzig is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Roosevelt doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Sanzig. Sanzig is working for a submission of some sort.

That's one minute gone in the round. Sanzig trying to mount his opponent but Roosevelt defends it. Sanzig is tying to control. Roosevelt wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Roosevelt knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sanzig on the ground. Roosevelt wants to get back to his feet. Sanzig is pressing down on Roosevelt's thigh, looking to free his foot. Roosevelt is holding on for now.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Roosevelt wants to clinch. Roosevelt doesn't manage to clinch there - Sanzig circles away.
Roosevelt pushes Sanzig up against the cage in a clinch. Roosevelt lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Roosevelt misses with a knee strike.
Sanzig tries for a takedown. No joy.

Sanzig gets full guard. Roosevelt trying to stand up but can't free himself from Sanzig's guard. Sanzig is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Roosevelt rolls with it to try and escape but Sanzig cranks on the arm and Roosevelt is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
