PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zachary Krantz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dequan Randolph (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Zachary Krantz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dequan Randolph!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Nard Betker and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Krantz shoots in for a takedown but Randolph shows good takedown defense.
Randolph misses the jab.
Krantz misses with a head kick.
Krantz moves away from the strike by Randolph.
A swing and a miss from Randolph.
Krantz throws a lazy right hand but Randolph sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Krantz shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Krantz wants to control the pace but Randolph is squirming around nicely.

Krantz has hold of Randolph's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Randolph manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Krantz wants to control the action but instead Randolph gets a body lock and reverses into Krantz's guard! Nice work!

Randolph would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Krantz bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Randolph's guard.

Krantz drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Randolph dives on top into guard.
Krantz controls Randolph momentarily but Randolph frees himself.
Krantz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Krantz has Randolph pulled in close to control his posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Randolph avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Randolph has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Krantz is proving hard to escape from.

Randolph decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Randolph fails to land with a series of punches.
Randolph swings for the body but Krantz moves out of range.
Randolph keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Krantz has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Randolph can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Krantz is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Randolph defends well.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Randolph loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Krantz is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Krantz is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Randolph doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Krantz.

Krantz is looking for a kimura but Randolph is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Krantz to get the leverage.

Randolph tries to kick Krantz off but Krantz keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Krantz wants to pass the guard but Randolph is defending well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Horrible takedown by Krantz or perhaps it was just good defense by Randolph which made him look bad.

That was a close second round but I would say that Zachary Krantz will probably get the nod.

Randolph will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Krantz up against the cage.

Randolph is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

Randolph's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

I think Krantz has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
