The crowd seem to be enjoying Lawal's choice of entrance music: Chocolate Salty Balls. Jon Lawal has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jon Lawal! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marsh moves into range and clinches up with Lawal. Marsh pulls guard. Marsh avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Lawal must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Marsh avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Lawal throws and elbow that misses. Marsh uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Lawal's guard. Nice move by Marsh! Marsh connects with a couple of short punches.
It looks like Jon Lawal has been cut. Marsh prevents Lawal from getting back to his feet. Marsh is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Marsh postures up and lands a big shot to Lawal's brow. Marsh chips away with some ground and pound.
That has opened up Jon Lawal's cut even more. Marsh trying to control the position from guard on top but Lawal is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Marsh postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Marsh with a nice head shot there.
The cut above Jon Lawal's eye is starting to cause him problems now. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Lawal wants to stand up but Marsh is controlling him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lawal is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Lawal really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Marsh. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Lawal keeping moving, preventing Marsh from controlling successfully. Marsh landing with the ground and pound.
Jon Lawal's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jon Lawal's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
