Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gregory Rasputin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fedor Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fedor Emelianenko! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Aleksandr Martynov and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rasputin keeps the fight on the outside. Rasputin scores with a takedown into Emelianenko's guard. Emelianenko keeping moving, preventing Rasputin from controlling successfully. Rasputin pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Emelianenko is keeping the position for now. Emelianenko wants to get back to his feet but Rasputin is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Rasputin trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Rasputin landing some decent shots from guard. Rasputin trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Rasputin is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Emelianenko is trying to control the position but Rasputin postures up. Emelianenko is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Rasputin working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Emelianenko's head. Emelianenko looking to control.
Emelianenko looking for a sweep. Not yet Emelianenko, not yet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rasputin lands a couple of digs. Emelianenko doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Rasputin is looking to work some ground and pound but Emelianenko has wrist control. Rasputin thows a big elbow that misses. Emelianenko really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rasputin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Rasputin is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Rasputin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Emelianenko tries to land a sweep but no joy. Emelianenko will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Rasputin shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Rasputin is breathing heavily. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Emelianenko not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Rasputin throwing strikes from guard but Emelianenko blocks nicely. Rasputin is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Rasputin trying to control the position from guard on top but Emelianenko is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Emelianenko controls Rasputin momentarily but Rasputin frees himself. Rasputin could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Emelianenko avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Emelianenko closes the distance and lands a one-two.
It looks like Gregory Rasputin has been cut. Nice shot lands for Emelianenko. Rasputin shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. This has been an exciting period of action! Emelianenko controlling Rasputin's posture. Emelianenko looking to control.

Gregory Rasputin dominated that round. The cut man is working on Gregory Rasputin's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Emelianenko with a lazy takedown attempt and Rasputin counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Emelianenko! Emelianenko is squirming around, avoiding Rasputin's attempts to control the action. Rasputin avoids the attempt from Emelianenko to control. A nice elbow there by Rasputin. Rasputin controlling his opponent. Rasputin seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Emelianenko for as long as he can get away with. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Emelianenko is in all sorts of trouble here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rasputin postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Emelianenko looks a forlorn figure.
Rasputin looking for a guillotine from mount but Emelianenko is having none of it. Rasputin has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Emelianenko's face.
Rasputin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Rasputin thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Emelianenko wants to control but Rasputin is having none of it. Emelianenko can't escape the position.

Emelianenko is looking to get to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Emelianenko wants to control but Rasputin is having none of it. Emelianenko is wriggling around trying to escape.
Rasputin lands a nice shot to the head. Rasputin lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Rasputin has Emelianenko flattened out and is raining down punches. Rasputin controlling the position well here. Emelianenko rolled but Rasputin kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Gregory Rasputin dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Gregory Rasputin's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Rasputin shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Rasputin was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Emelianenko is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Emelianenko flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Rasputin moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Emelianenko has worked his arm free - good work by Emelianenko!
Rasputin trying to control the position but Emelianenko is working away. Emelianenko is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Rasputin has just dragged him back down to the mat. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rasputin in the domination position with Emelianenko hanging on. Rasputin looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Emelianenko is avoiding damage well.
Rasputin in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Gregory Rasputin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Emelianenko is looking to reverse the position. Rasputin lands an elbow.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Rasputin shoots and misses and Emelianenko counters by clinching up. Emelianenko's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Emelianenko gets a clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rasputin fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Emelianenko breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Emelianenko fails with the takedown and Rasputin counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Rasputin content to control rather than advance. Rasputin is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Emelianenko sees it coming and defends easily. Rasputin looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Emelianenko has one foot on Rasputin's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Emelianenko wants to clinch up but Rasputin keeps it at a distance. Rasputin swats away the attempt to clinch by Emelianenko. Emelianenko fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rasputin, pushing him back against the cage. Rasputin tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Emelianenko smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gregory Rasputin. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rasputin looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Emelianenko! Emelianenko taking shots to the head.

And that's the end of the fight! Gregory Rasputin showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rasputin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
