Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Colin Gray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John McFadden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Colin Gray! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John McFadden! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Alec Ball and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gray shoots in looking for a takedown. McFadden tries to sprawl out of it but Gray keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. McFadden manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gray. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gray is defended easily by McFadden. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Colin Gray. That's going to take a lot out of him. McFadden darts in and clinches Gray up against the cage. McFadden has clasped his hands together around Gray's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. McFadden decides to stand back up. McFadden throws a series of punches but Gray avoids them all with ease. McFadden is looking to clinch but Gray is avoiding it.
Gray has McFadden up against the cage in a clinch.
Gray jumps guard and drags McFadden to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Gray is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's one minute gone in the round. McFadden postures up.
Gray working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from McFadden. McFadden's corner is telling him to maintain position. McFadden is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. McFadden postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Gray controlling the position. McFadden showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. McFadden is working Gray over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. McFadden controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. McFadden wants to control from the top but Gray keeps moving. Gray is breathing heavily. Gray controls McFadden momentarily but McFadden frees himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McFadden trying to control the position from guard on top but Gray is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. McFadden slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. McFadden in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. McFadden drops back, looking for a kneebar! Gray looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Gray looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Gray! McFadden can't do much from the bottom here. McFadden really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gray. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. McFadden is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Gray's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Gray trying to control the action but McFadden is working from the bottom. McFadden has his hands clasped together around Gray's back. He's all about the action. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McFadden trying to hold on to Gray's head to control him but Gray postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John McFadden dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
McFadden lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
McFadden closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. McFadden remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Despite being in the dominant position, John McFadden just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. McFadden darts in trying to clinch and Gray counters with a nice double leg into side control. McFadden won't be happy with that. McFadden is looking for a sweep. Gray wants to control but McFadden is keeping him busy. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. A lull in the action here. McFadden sneaks back into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are battling for position here. McFadden manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Gray trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. McFadden working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gray doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gray manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. McFadden throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. McFadden is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. McFadden trying to control the position here. McFadden keeping moving, preventing Gray from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gray preventing the sweep. McFadden is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Gray avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. McFadden trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Gray might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Gray stopping the sweep attempt from McFadden. There's a bit of a scramble here and now McFadden is on top in guard.
Gray is looking to stand up but McFadden isn't so interested in that idea. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John McFadden showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
McFadden with a body punch. A glancing blow. McFadden gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Gray has McFadden pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. McFadden manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Gray has McFadden pressed against the cage, preventing McFadden from circling away and getting back to striking at range. McFadden has picked Gray up - he's going for a ride! McFadden dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. McFadden sitting and controlling from the half guard. McFadden working the head and body with strikes. Both fighters are breathing heavily. McFadden takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. McFadden is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's one minute gone in the round. McFadden is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. John McFadden has got the better of the ground game so far. McFadden is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Gray is looking to improve his position but McFadden isn't that keen on the idea. McFadden takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Gray wants to hold on but McFadden pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. McFadden with shots to the head and body - Gray looks very uncomfortable down there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gray taking shots to the head. McFadden controlling the pace for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gray wants to hold on but McFadden pushes him away. BOOM! McFadden connects with a massive shot to the dome!
McFadden takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Gray taking shots to the head. McFadden tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. McFadden's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. McFadden connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Gray taking shots to the head. McFadden tries to control but Gray wriggling away. McFadden working away from the top, dropping strikes.
And that's the end of the fight! John McFadden comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well McFadden has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
