Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Culann Ryan jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddie Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Culann Ryan jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eddie Rogers!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ryan jr closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Rogers did well to prevent Ryan jr getting side control.
Ryan jr working over Rogers with some ground and pound. Rogers looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rogers can do anything to dispel that myth.

Ryan jr decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Ryan jr stuffs the takedown attempt from Rogers. Rogers gets slowly back to his feet.
Rogers stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rogers wants it to stay on the feet.
Ryan jr tries to close the distance and clinch but Rogers swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Rogers makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Rogers.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ryan jr stands up and beckons Rogers to his feet.

Ryan jr tries to keep at a distance but Rogers has taken the fight into the clinch.
Rogers is trying to break free.

Ryan jr escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Rogers on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Rogers looks gassed!
Ryan jr throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rogers's waist but Rogers gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ryan jr off to one side.

Ryan jr gets a clinch.
Rogers tries for a takedown. No joy.
Rogers jumps guard but Ryan jr stands there with Rogers around his waist. Rogers gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Culann Ryan jr has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eddie Rogers.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ryan jr had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rogers defends it easily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Rogers is breathing heavily.
Ryan jr passes Rogers's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Rogers is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Ryan jr is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Ryan jr seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Ryan jr closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Rogers to the mat! Rogers manages to get full guard.

Ryan jr gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ryan jr is defended easily by Rogers.
Rogers jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Ryan jr keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Rogers.
Rogers misses with the combination.
Ryan jr shoots in for a takedown but Rogers shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Ryan jr tries to clinch there but Rogers circles away.

Ryan jr clinches up with Rogers and pushes him back against the cage.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Ryan jr has picked Rogers up - he's going for a ride! Ryan jr dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Ryan jr is working for a kimura but Rogers is defending it quite comfortably.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Ryan jr lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Ryan jr is keen to just control but Rogers is a slippery customer.
Ryan jr scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Rogers tries to kick Ryan jr off but Ryan jr keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Ryan jr is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Rogers doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ryan jr.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Eddie Rogers has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
