Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Reodfsenior Castro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Alejandro De La Souza!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, William Gold and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De La Souza lands a high kick!
Castro shoots in and drives through. De La Souza sprawls well.
Castro shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Castro ducks right into an uppercut from De La Souza.
Nice sprawl there from De La Souza as Castro shoots in.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Reodfsenior Castro. That's going to take a lot out of him.
De La Souza throws and low kick but Castro moves out of range easily.
Reodfsenior Castro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
De La Souza misses with a head kick.
Castro shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as De La Souza sprawls well. De La Souza wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Castro gets slowly back to his feet.
Castro shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with De La Souza but De La Souza pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Castro closes the distance and clinches up with De La Souza, looking for a takedown. Castro pushes De La Souza against the cage but De La Souza circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
De La Souza misses with a two punch combination.
Castro will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
De La Souza is trying to control Castro's posture but Castro avoids it.
Castro throws an elbow but De La Souza slips to the side and avoids it well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
De La Souza tries to clinch up but Castro circles away and keeps his distance.
De La Souza stuffs the takedown attempt from Castro. Castro gets slowly back to his feet.
Castro blocks a head kick by De La Souza.
Nice takedown defense from De La Souza. No joy for Castro on that attempt.

Castro drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
De La Souza tries to bench press Castro off him but Castro keeps the position.

Castro looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Castro tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Castro has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Castro is breathing heavily.
Castro wants to lay and pray for a moment but De La Souza keeps working.

Castro decides to stand back up.
Castro fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Castro keeps the fight on the outside.

Castro closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Castro wants to free his trapped foot but De La Souza is holding on for dear life with his legs.
De La Souza tries to roll over but Castro keeps him under control.
Castro passes to side control.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

De La Souza is trying to control Castro's posture but Castro avoids it.

Castro tries for a kimura but De La Souza is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Reodfsenior Castro dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Horrible takedown by Castro or perhaps it was just good defense by De La Souza which made him look bad.
Castro closes the distance and clinches up with De La Souza, looking for a takedown. Castro pushes De La Souza against the cage but De La Souza circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

De La Souza lands an overhand right.
De La Souza ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Castro shoots in and bounces De La Souza off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Castro throws a big right hand that misses.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Castro thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Castro postures up and lands a big shot to De La Souza's brow.
Castro in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

De La Souza looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Castro thows a big elbow that misses.
De La Souza wants to sweep but no luck.
Castro trying to control the position from guard on top but De La Souza is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Castro scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Castro lands a nice short elbow.
Castro looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks De La Souza with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Castro thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed De La Souza's head.
Castro keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Castro passes the guard and advances to mount!
Castro postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. De La Souza looks a forlorn figure.
Castro looking to control but De La Souza is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Castro looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
De La Souza tries to reverse the position but Castro maintains control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Castro looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
De La Souza takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Castro is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but De La Souza is surviving well by controlling Castro's body position as best he can.
De La Souza really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Castro. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Castro looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
De La Souza squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

Castro has hold of De La Souza's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and De La Souza manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Castro putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!

De La Souza is bucking up trying to escape but Castro cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Castro breaks from De La Souza's wrist control and lands an elbow.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Castro lands a big shot there that rocks De La Souza but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Castro working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

De La Souza is in all sorts of trouble here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Castro has isolated one of De La Souza's arms. De La Souza looking to fight him off but Castro twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
