Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Benito Sobral (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hue Jazz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Benito Sobral! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hue Jazz! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Alec Ball and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sobral catches Jazz with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Jazz changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sobral looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Sobral can't do much from the bottom here. Sobral is trying to get back to half guard. Jazz decides to stand back up. Jazz showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Sobral.
Benito Sobral seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jazz walks into a jab.
It looks like Hue Jazz has been cut. Jazz tries to keep at a distance but Sobral has taken the fight into the clinch. Sobral tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jazz smiles and moves away.
Sobral bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. This has been an exciting period of action! Jazz is positioning himself to get back to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sobral trying to control the position but Jazz is working away. Sobral stands up and beckons Jazz to his feet. Sobral on the wrong end of a nice hook.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jazz checks a low kick from Sobral. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Sobral, as that shot connected.
Sobral tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Jazz throws a one two combo.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Benito Sobral. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sobral is looking to control Jazz's arms but Jazz gets an underhook and turns him. Now Sobral has his back to the cage. Jazz manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Sobral will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Jazz up against the cage. Sobral tries to pull guard but Jazz won't allow it.
Jazz is trying to break the clinch but Sobral has him pressed against the cage. Sobral goes for a takedown attempt but Jazz pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jazz throws a sloppy head kick and Sobral moves out of range easily. Jazz throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Jazz throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Sobral darts in and clinches Jazz up against the cage. Sobral has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Jazz avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Sobral is breathing heavily. With the fighters up against the cage, Sobral throws an elbow but misses. Jazz breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Jazz counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Sobral thinking. Sobral misses with a takedown attempt and Jazz counters with a takedown into side control. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Sobral prevents Jazz from improving position. Jazz decides to stand up, so the ref orders Sobral to his feet. Jazz shoots in and bounces Sobral off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Jazz is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Sobral looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Sobral pulls Jazz in close to prevent any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jazz avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Sobral is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Sobral trying to control the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Jazz postures up.
Sobral keeping moving, preventing Jazz from controlling successfully. Jazz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sobral swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Sobral lands with an uppercut that bounces Jazz off the cage and back into rage. Sobral scores with a sloppy right hand. Jazz should have avoided that one. Sobral throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Jazz counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Jazz. Jazz avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Sobral keeping moving, preventing Jazz from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Hue Jazz will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Hue Jazz's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

A kick lands to the mid section there for Sobral. Jazz takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Jazz takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Danga de danga de dang - Jazz scores with a four punch combination! Sobral pushes Jazz up against the cage in a clinch. Sobral tries for a takedown but Jazz manages to get underhooks.

Sobral is thwarting Jazz's attempts to control the position. Sobral is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Sobral not landing any meaningful shots this time. Jazz wants to improve his position but Sobral is controlling well.
Sobral passes the guard and advances to mount! Sobral with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Sobral wants to take his opponent's back but Jazz doesn't allow it. Sobral looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Jazz is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Sobral has hold of Jazz's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Jazz manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Sobral punching from mount but Jazz doing a good job of avoiding damage. Sobral looking to control but Jazz is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jazz has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever. Sobral is punishing Jazz with strikes - can he finish him?! Jazz defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Sobral's arms. You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Sobral lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Jazz hold on?!
Sobral wants to control but Jazz is keeping busy. Jazz looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Oooh a big shot gets through from Sobral. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!
Sobral looking to break Jazz's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Jazz remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Sobral will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Jazz defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.

Sobral has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Jazz is defending well but eventually Sobral manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Jazz has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
