PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lander Plast (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Timmy Olsson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Olsson has chosen back on my feet again as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lander Plast!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Timmy Olsson!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Olsson drives through with a takedown into guard.

Olsson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Plast gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Olsson counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Olsson.

Plast is fighting off a takedown attempt but Olsson is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Plast to the mat. Plast regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Plast is looking to stand up but Olsson isn't so interested in that idea.
Plast keeping moving, preventing Olsson from controlling successfully.

Plast is working an open guard so Olsson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Plast misses with a takedown attempt

and Olsson counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Plast!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Olsson goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Plast turns into him and now he's in Olsson's guard.

Olsson looks gassed!

Olsson is trying to keep Plast in close.
Olsson keeping moving, preventing Plast from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Plast in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Olsson has a closed guard, preventing Plast from standing up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Plast wants to control from the top but Olsson keeps moving.
Plast prevents Olsson from getting back to his feet.
Plast throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Plast tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Olsson counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Plast!
Plast is looking to improve his position but Olsson isn't that keen on the idea.
Olsson tries to control but Plast wriggling away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Olsson moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Plast has worked his arm free - good work by Plast!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Plast is trying to get back to half guard.
Plast parries the strikes from Olsson easily there. Olsson is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Plast to escape.
Plast is trying to control Olsson's posture but Olsson avoids it.
Plast is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Olsson off and has taken his back!
Plast thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.
I really don't envy Olsson right now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Plast is looking to control Olsson but Olsson is wriggling around and keeping busy.

Olsson defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Plast's arms.
Olsson looking very determined here, making life difficult for Plast.
Olsson tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Plast has control of Olsson's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Olsson regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Plast avoids the attempt from Olsson to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Timmy Olsson dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Plast throws a left and a right that both miss

and Olsson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Olsson throws a strike but Plast avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Plast is on top in guard.
Olsson wants to stand up but Plast is controlling him.
Olsson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Plast!
Plast sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Olsson is breathing heavily.
Plast is trying to stand back up but Olsson is controlling him

Olsson is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Timmy Olsson has got the better of the ground game so far.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Olsson stalling away here and it's allowed Plast to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Plast is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Plast lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Olsson!
Olsson is working to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Plast scoring with strikes but Olsson is staying in there.
Olsson is in a horrible position here. Plast smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Olsson wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Plast.
Plast throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Olsson because Plast loaded up on that one.

Plast has hold of Olsson's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Olsson manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Olsson tries to lock up and control but Plast gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Plast cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Olsson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Plast working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Olsson looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Plast! Submission of the night perhaps?

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Lander Plast!
