Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Cain Velasquez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jams Zoltan!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Shimada and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zoltan shoots in but no luck this time.
Zoltan shoots for a takedown but Velasquez saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Velasquez throws a combination. Zoltan tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Zoltan takes a swing at Velasquez's ribcage but misses.
Velasquez scores with a shot to the body.
Velasquez rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Zoltan moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
A left and a right from Velasquez both land. Nice combination.
Velasquez catches Zoltan with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Velasquez displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Zoltan is defended easily by Velasquez.
Cain Velasquez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jams Zoltan.
Zoltan fails in his attempt to clinch.
Velasquez jabs at Zoltan's body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Zoltan is looking to clinch but Velasquez is avoiding it.
A jab lands there for Velasquez.
Velasquez could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Zoltan moves in looking to clinch but Velasquez pushes him off.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Zoltan tries to close the distance and clinch but Velasquez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Velasquez with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Zoltan looks gassed!
Zoltan dives in and grabs Velasquez's left leg, looking for a takedown. Velasquez pushes down on Zoltan's head and hops out.
Velasquez wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Velasquez scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Velasquez drops Zoltan with a beautiful combination! Zoltan stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Velasquez is looking for the KO!
Zoltan is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Velasquez throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Zoltan stumbling backwards into the cage! Zoltan bounces back off the cage towards Velasquez, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Velasquez lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Velasquez celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Cain Velasquez!
