Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Garnett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tiago Castro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Garnett comes to the cage accompanied by Go To Sleep. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Aaron Garnett! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tiago Castro! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Anthony Taglia and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Garnett shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Garnett showed some decent athleticism there. Castro gets back to full guard.
Castro striking off his back but it's not causing Garnett any problems. Garnett looking to pass the guard. Garnett showing good wrestling skills to control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Garnett preventing the sweep. Garnett knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Castro on the ground. Castro is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Castro can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Garnett controls the pace. Castro looking to control.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Castro is trying to keep Garnett in close.
Castro might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Garnett kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Castro looking to hit a scissor sweep but Garnett is one step ahead there. Garnett stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Castro swivels though and keeps the full guard. Garnett not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Aaron Garnett just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Castro tries to close the distance and clinch up but Garnett swats him away and circles back towards the center. Castro shoots and misses and Garnett counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Garnett. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Garnett stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Castro has hold of Garnett's hands but Garnett slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Castro is pressing down on Garnett's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Garnett controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Garnett tries for a takedown but Castro circles away easily and Castro counters by clinching up. Garnett has clasped his hands together around Castro's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Castro is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Garnett's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Garnett stops Castro from getting back to his feet.
Castro wants to get back to full guard. Garnett perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Castro wants to control but Garnett is keeping busy.

That's one minute gone in the round. Castro is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Garnett content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Garnett connects with a nice short shot to Castro's temple. Garnett keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Castro trying to hold on to Garnett's head to control him but Garnett postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Garnett stalling.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Aaron Garnett just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Castro shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Castro is looking to advance position but Garnett won't allow it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Castro seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Garnett does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Garnett is trying to stand up here but Castro is controlling him well. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Castro trying to control the action but Garnett is working from the bottom.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Castro misses the shot to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Garnett has his takedown stuffed and Castro counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Castro wanted to stand there but Garnett had control of the position. Castro trying to control the position from guard on top but Garnett is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Castro won't allow Garnett to get back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tiago Castro showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Castro throws a solid leg kick but Garnett takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Castro. Garnett doesn't succeed with the takedown and Castro counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Castro wants to pass to mount but Garnett is defending the position. Castro is trying to control. Garnett wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Garnett makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Garnett ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Castro tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Garnett counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Castro is looking to control Garnett's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Castro avoid being mounted? Garnett is figuring out what he wants to do next. That's three minutes gone in the round. Garnett is thwarting Castro's attempts to control the position. Castro makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Castro. Castro controls Garnett momentarily but Garnett frees himself. Castro looking for a sweep. Not yet Castro, not yet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Castro trying to strike off his back.
Castro keeping full guard, as Garnett tries to pass. Garnett controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Garnett in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Garnett not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Castro escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Garnett gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Garnett tries to free his leg and advance position but Castro is retaining full guard. Garnett avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
And that's the end of the fight! Aaron Garnett showed his dominance in that final round. Well Garnett has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
