6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Steven Champ! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rakishi Tua! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Damien Edna and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Champ moves in looking to clinch but Tua pushes him off. Champ tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Tua paws at him with a jab and circles away. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Tua scores with a decent looking hook.
It looks like Steven Champ has been cut. Champ fails with an attempt to clinch.
Tua cracks Champ with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Champ looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Tua finish him?
Champ is rocked! Champ is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Oh Champ is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Tua sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Champ's defenses. It connects perfectly with Champ's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Rakishi Tua! Rakishi Tua retains his heavyweight title!
